Set in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is located about 22 kilometers north-east of Calicut City. National Institute of Technology Calicut is a Technical Institution of national importance set up by an Act of parliament(Act 29 of 2007) namely, the National Institute of technology Act 2007, which received the assent of the President of India on 5th June,2007. The provision of the Act have come into force with effect from 15th August,2007 as per Notification S.O.1384(E) dated 9th August, 2007 of the MHRD(Dept. of Higher Education),New Delhi. As per the provision of the said Act, this Institution runs on non profitable basis.

Bachelors degree in any discipline with Mathematics /Economics as a subject of study from a recognized University or Institution, on a full time basis with an aggregate minimum of 60% (or 6.5 out of 10 CGPA) for Open and OBC categories and 55% (or 6.0 out of 10 CGPA) for SC /ST categories.

Final year students (of the above-mentioned programs) are also eligible to apply

Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree with minimum marks stipulated above, before the commencement of the program and produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program

The applicants should also have a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) /Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) score or expecting the results of the same.

The aspirants shall be ranked based on their performance in group discussions and personal interviews to be conducted as a part of selection procedure for admission.

Scores of JEE (Main) - 2013 will be declared by 7 May, 2013. Top 1,50,000 candidates qualified in Paper - I (including all the categories) are eligible to register for JEE (Advanced) - 2013. To write JEE (Advanced) -2013 all eligible candidates should register through online at [http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in/] during 8 May to 13 May, 2013. After online registration, candidates must pay the examination fee as applicable through challan (generated during registration process) of all SBI branches having core banking solution (CBS) on or before 13 May, 2013. The examination fee for GE and OBC(NCL) male candidates is Rs.1800/-. The fee for SC, ST, PD male candidates is Rs. 900/-. There is no fee for female candidates of all categories. Registration is complete only after the payment.


Important: The applicants must note that application for JEE (Advanced) - 2013 cannot be withdrawn after registration and payment of fee. Claims for refund of registration fee will not be entertained under any circumstances. While registering for JEE (Advanced) - 2013, candidate need to provide following information.

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for MTech (Computer Science and Engineering) in National Institute of Technology, NIT, Calicut

Candidates for admission to MTech Degree Programme shall be required to have passed the four-year regular full time BE. /BTech. Degree with 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in aggregate in the qualifying examination together with valid GATE* SCORE and for SC/ST candidates 50% marks (CGPA 5.5/10) in aggregate with valid GATE SCORE in the Discipline/Branch given below. Candidates under lateral entry should have passed the three year diploma in engineering with first class and SC/ST candidate with second class.

ð       Candidates applying for admission to different programmes will have to select the corresponding codes in the appropriate columns in the online Application.

ð       A passport size photograph taken not earlier than 3 months is to be affixed on the Printed Application obtained after online submission. The photo in the application should be self-attested. Additional six copies of the same photograph and one stamp size photograph should be produced at the time of counseling/admission.

ð       Demand Draft towards application fee (Rs. 600/- for Open candidates, Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates and Rs. 2000/- for sons & daughters of NRIs drawn in favour of Director, NIT Calicut payable at State Bank of India, NIT Calicut Branch (Code No. 2207) is to be enclosed.
