About College:

NPTI (Eastern Region) National Power Training Institute (NPTI) has been set up by the Government of India under the Ministry of Power, to function as the National Apex Body for Human Resources Development of Indian Power Sector. NPTI (Eastern Region), Durgapur is one of the nine Regional Institutes of NPTI established in 1968. The Corporate Office of NPTI is located at NPTI Complex, Sector –33, Faridabad – 121 003 (Haryana) and other regional institutes located at Neyveli (Tamilnadu), Badarpur (New Delhi), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Guwahati (assam), Nangal (Punjab), Faridabad (Haryana) and Bengaluru (Karnataka). NPTI’s institutes are fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art-training infrastructure and also expert faculty with long years of professional and teaching experience with adequate research and development exposure. These Institutes are conducting a number of training programs for Power Engineers, Operators and Technicians in the areas of Thermal and Hydro Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution System and other related areas.

NPTI (Eastern Region) Durgapur plays an important role in the field of HRD in the Power Sector as a leading Institute in the Eastern Region and till March 2010 has trained about 30000 Power Sector personnel in technical and managerial skill development programs including various professional and academic courses.

To provide a quality, customer focused, satisfactory training courses with sustainable improvement plan and targeting the potential upcoming technology driven training requirement for power sector personnel NPTI has implemented Integrated Management System in line with ISO 9001:2008 and EMS 14001:2005 for a better understanding and follow up of internal improvement process and to deliver more value to the participating organizations of power sector.

Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (PDTPPE)
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering PDTPPE in National Power Training Institute, NPTI, Durgapur

Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical/ control & Instrumentation or equivalent. Graduate engineers are not eligible. (Engineering or equivalent from a recognized technical board of the state with minimum of 60% marks with I class/I Grade)

Selection Procedure: As per Merit (% of marks in Diploma)

Age Limit: No age limit for sponsored candidates.

Total Seats: 72(seventy two) -provisional). Reservation for SC/ST/ OBC/Physically challenged and other categories is Applicable as per Govt. of India norms for none sponsored candidates. 25% seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma with Class I/I Grade.
