Admission to the Certificate Course in Remote Sensing and GIS is open to Candidates who have Bachelors Degree in Science/Arts (having Geography as one of the elective subject)/ Agriculture / Architecture/Computer Science or Engineering of a University established or incorporated by law with at least 55% marks for general and 45% marks in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and BC (Annex I) in aggregate.

Admission to certificate course in RS & GIS shall be made on the basis of written aptitude test followed by viva-voce carrying a total of 100 marks. The Written Aptitude Test will be multiple choice objective type of questions carrying 75 marks. The duration of the test shall be 60 minutes. Admission to B.Sc. (Honours) Environmental Science Course shall be made on the basis of a written Aptitude test followed by Viva Voce carrying a total of 100 marks. The questions will cover the disciplines such as Botany, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Environment, Microbiology and Elementary knowledge of Computer and Mathematics. Admission Procedure: Admission shall be made in order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in B.A / B.Sc / B.Com. Hons. (Three year degree course) examination of Patna University or equivalent examination recognized by the Patna University. The minimum eligibility to apply for admission is that a candidate must have passed the above Hons. Examinations or equivalent examinations recognized by Patna University with 50 percent of marks.

Candidates with 45% (Hons.) marks in the Faculty of Science, Arts, Commerce, Management and Engineering are eligible to apply for admission. Appearing candidates may also apply. Their cases will be considered provided they submit original marks-sheet at the time of admission.

Selection Procedure:  Eligible candidates desirous of taking admission to the MFC Programme are required to fill-in Application Form issued by the Department of Applied Economics and Commerce, Patna University to be eligible to appear at the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The MFC Administration makes use of valid* MAT Score (Sept. 2006, Dec. 2006, Feb. 2007 and May 2007) for short listing the candidates. The short listed candidates will be required to appear at the Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be conducted by the MFC Programme at the Department of Applied Economics and Commerce, Patna University. Selection to the Programme will be made on the basis of MAT Score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

A graduate with Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, Botany, Wildlife, Forestry, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology as major subject having Honours degree in any of these subjects or an MBBS degree holder with at least 55% for general category and 45% (for SC and ST) marks in honours subject. A graduate having Honours Degree in Statistics I Mathematics or a candidate is having Honours in any subject but Mathematics or Statistics at the Intermediate level or a graduate having Honours in any subject but Mathematics and / or Statistics as subsidiary paper or a graduate having Mathematics or Statistics as general paper. The selection of candidates for admission to the above course shall be made on the basis of written entrance test followed by an interview conducted by the Department of Statistics, Patna University, and Patna.

To be eligible for admission to this vocational course a student must have passed:

a)     Passed M. Sc. in any subject / M.A. in Geography, Mathematics or Statistics / Bachelor of Engineering / B. Sc. (Agriculture) Examination conducted by a University established or incorporated by Law or equivalent thereof ;

b)     Qualified at the Aptitude Test followed by a viva voce examination to be conducted by the Geology Department of Patna University.

Appearing candidates may also apply subject to condition that they will have to produce their results before admission to this course.

Aptitude Test & Viva –voce Examination:  Admission to the PG Diploma Course in Water Resource Management shall be made on the basis of a written Aptitude Test (60 marks) followed by a viva voce examination (40 marks), both to be conducted by the Department.
