1.      A candidate should possess a Master's Degree in the subject concerned or any other allied subject (as per the approved list) from a recognized University; with a minimum of 50% (in the case of SC/ST candidates it is 40%). OR

2.      Any other qualification equivalent to Master's Degree with at least a Second Class from a recognized University/Institution. OR

Duration:  

1.      Candidates work for their M.Phil on part-time basis.

2.      The programme shall be of 1 ½ ; years duration of which 6 months are allotted to the course work and remaining 1 year for the preparation of the Dissertation;

3.      If a candidate is not able submit the dissertation within the stipulated period; he or she may be given an extension of time (not more than 1 year); if warranted by the merits of the case.

Medium: The medium of examination for M.Phil Entrance test; Course work and Dissertation shall be English. In case of Languages the medium shall be the language concerned or English.
