Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering PDTPPE
Course Description:
Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2013-14) this course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and covers all aspects of Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants. Formal coaching shall be held at the Regional Institute of NPTI, located at Durgapur (West Bengal). On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations. The course authorizes the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-stations.

Eligibility:

Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical/ control & Instrumentation or equivalent. Graduate engineers are not eligible. (Engineering or equivalent from a recognized technical board of the state with minimum of 60% marks with I class/I Grade)

Selection Procedure: As per Merit (% of marks in Diploma)

Age Limit: 27 years as on 01.01.2013. No age limit for sponsored candidates.

Total Seats: 72(seventy two) -provisional). Reservation for SC/ST/ OBC/Physically challenged and other categories is Applicable as per Govt. of India norms for none sponsored candidates. 25% seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma with Class I/I Grade.

How To Apply:

Application on plain paper along with the Demand draft (Non-refundable) of Rs. 700/- in favour of NPTI payable at Durgapur should reach to the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (ER), City Centre, Durgapur-713216, West Bengal with two passport size photograph on or before 21.12.2010 in the following format.

1. Name of Applicant 2. Father’s Name 3. Father’s Occupation 4. Father’s address with phone number. 5. Mother’s name 6. Postal address of applicant, 7. Phone No. of applicant & Email address 8. Date of birth & Age as on 01.01.2010, 9. Sex, 10. Marital Status, 11. Nationality12.Categories:GEN/SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged 13. Educational Qualifications: starting from 10th standard stating branch/discipline/subjects/ College/Institution, % of marks, in each semester/year, % of Diploma, and year of passing. 14. Sponsored/Non-sponsored (If sponsored, attach certificate from employer). 15. Demand Draft No., date and Bank’s name 16.Signature, attach attested copies of proof of item no. 8, 11, 12, 13, 14

along with following documents : Diploma / Provisional Diploma certificate, Document from candidate’s Board /Institution stating equivalence of grades with percentage of marks, in case of gradation system, Document from candidate’s Board/Institution stating basis of Diploma percentage to be on which years/semesters percentages, if it is not clearly mentioned in mark sheets. Caste and Caste validity certificates for SC/ST/OBC candidates, Noncreamy layer certificate in Central Government format to be additionally produced by OBC candidates. Sponsored candidates should submit sponsorship certificate and No objection Certificate from the sponsoring Organization. Application format is also available on our website: www.nptidurgapur.com.

Fees: For non sponsored candidates Rs. 1,20,000/- (in two installments). For sponsored candidates Rs. 1,70,000/- payable in lump sum at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. Refundable security of Rs. 2500/- and Rs. 3000/- as Transport charges for visits to power stations and industries are payable separately at the time of admission.

 

For candidates from foreign countries

SAARC Countries: US $ 10,000/-

Other Countries: US $ 11000/-

Lodging/Boarding: Hostel charges of Rs. 21,600/- per annum (@ Rs.1800/- per month) per participant to be paid in two installments. Separate hostel facility for girls available. Hostel facility subject to availability of accommodation. Food is available on chargeable basis at Canteen attached with hostel.
