NIT Warangal Announces NIMCET 2013

 

 

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier technical institutions of national repute, fully funded by Government of India. The Curricula and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the need of different IT Firms in India and abroad which has a high job potential in IT Sector. NIMCET 2013 is a national level entrance test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA programme. The admission to first year of MCA prgoramme, offered by NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal, for the year 2013 will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET 2013 ONLY. Candidate’s score and rank based on NIMCET-2013 entrance examination is valid for admission to MCA course of participating NIT’s for 2013 session only. NIMCET-2013 examination is scheduled on 26th May 2013 from 10.00 AM to 12.00 noon at the various test centers

Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC/ST) in each of the examinations of

1.      12th level with Mathematics and

2.      Bachelor’s Degree of full time 3 year duration from a recognized University with any one of the

3.      The following as one of the subjects

4.      Mathematics

5.      Business Mathematics

6.      Discrete Mathematics

7.      Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science

8.      Business Statistics

9.      Computational Mathematics

10.  Elementary Mathematics

11.  Elementary Statistics

Those who have done Bridge Course in Mathematics are also eligible to apply. The percentages of marks for (i) and (ii) given above are to be calculated on the basis of method used by respective Board / University. Students completing degree from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their course is approved by UGC/AICTE / Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2013. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2013 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but, failing which, their admission may be cancelled by the respective NITs. State quota is applicable only for the state of Tamil Nadu .Candidate passed / appeared for qualifying exam from Tamil Nadu will be eligible for Tamil Nadu State Quota of NIT – Trichurapalli. For all other NIT’s only all India quota is applicable.

MODE OF EXAMINATION:-

NIMCET 2013 examination will be of two hours and question paper will consist of 120 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question in Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English. Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheets at the time of examination. Candidates have to bring their own HB pencil, eraser and black ball point pen. Calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic gadget are not allowed in the examination hall.

WEB ENABLED ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM:-

Eligible candidates are required to fill in web enabled on-line application form from any place of their convenience. Candidates are required to create user login Id and password for themselves and should use the same as and when required. Candidates are not permitted to create multiple Ids’ in any case. If there is any problem in login creation then candidate are required to contact Secretary NIMCET 2013.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Candidates are required to read the instructions carefully before filling the online application form (See Page 13). They are also required to take a print out of the online filled in online application form and send it by speed post along with copies of mark sheets of Matriculation, High School and Graduation and a demand draft of Rs 1500/- for open /OBC and Rs 750/- for SC/ST candidates in favor of “NIMCET 2013” payable at SBI.

PROCESSING FEE:-

The fee for entrance examination and counseling is Rs 1500 /- for OPEN/OBC and Rs 750/- for SC/ST candidates. Candidates will have to submit a demand draft of appropriate amount, depending up on their category, in favor of “NIMCET 2013”, payable at Bhopal. Candidates are required to write their name, address and mobile/phone number at the back side of the demand draft.

Opening date for online login creation and submission of online application form: 13th February, 2013

Closing date of online login creation: 13th April, 2013, Saturday

Last date for online submission of application: 13th April, 2013, Saturday

Last date for receipt of printout of electronically filled application form along with requisite demand draft by speed post/registered post: 16th April, 2013, Tuesday

Availability of admit card on website for download: 07th May, 2013 to 26th May, 2013

Date of examination: 26th May, 2013, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon

Date of publication of result (tentative): 11th June, 2013, Tuesday

 

SCORE CARD AND VALIDITY OF NIMCET 2013:-

The list of selected candidates for online counseling on the basis of NIMCET 2013 rank will be published on www.nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in  Score card of all eligible candidates will be made available on http://www.nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in/ Candidate is required to download their score card using their login Id from the NIMCET 2013 website. No separate Score Card will be sent to the candidates. Candidate’s score and rank based on NIMCET 2013 is valid for admission to MCA course to the Participating Institutes for 2013 session only.
