The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMEDK).

 

COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2013, for Indian national candidates aspiring to pursue Post Graduate Courses in Medicine and Dentistry in the State of Karnataka, in Member Institutions of the Consortium (Medical and Dental Colleges).

 

COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window). The details will be published in due course on our website, http://www.comedk.org.

 

The list of the Member Institutions who have indicated their participation in the COMEDK testing program, along with the courses offered by them, is published as part of this brochure, on our website http://www.comedk.org

 

Applicants are advised to read this brochure thoroughly and familiarise themselves with the test procedures.

The COMEDK PGET 2013 will be conducted only at centers in Bangalore on Sunday the 03rd February 2013

Degree / Diploma Programs: Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. from an institution recognized by MCI / DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/2013 at the latest.

 

MCI / DCI Norms: Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate Medical / Dental course in any of the Medical / Dental institutions in the country, must possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

 

In the case of an Indian national with the recognized degree from Foreign University, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary/permanent registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies.

 

Temporary/Permanent registration to such candidates shall be subject to the condition that the degree is duly registered in the country where the degree is obtained and is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India also.

 

As per the Existing Post Graduate Regulation of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2013) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.

 

As specified by the Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2013) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.

 

Note: Only Candidates who are due to complete the internship on or before 30/04/2013 are eligible.

 

Rank list / Rank Card will be prepared only for those candidates who become eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India Regulations.

 

Please send the following documents along with the completed

 

Demand Draft drawn in favour of "COMEDK", payable at Bangalore for Rs.2000/- (Two Thousand Only) application number & applicant’s name to be written behind the DD. Check for the banker’s seal and signature on the DD. Printed Online Application Form.

 

The completed application form must have

i. Candidate’s photo should be pasted (within the box provided).

ii. Candidate’s signature (within the box provided).

iii. Left thumb, forefinger and middle finger impression of the candidate (within the space provided).

Printed Online Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof (COMEDK copy)

The completed Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof must have

i. Attestation (within the space provided) by the Head of the Institution where he/she last studied or Gazetted officer not below the rank of Tahsildar of the area in which he/she is a resident.

ii. Candidate’s photo should be pasted (within the box provided).

iii. Candidate’s signature (within the box provided). Photocopies of All marks cards including that of failed year if any (First Year to Final Year university examination marks card/s).

Photocopy of Attempt Certificate is a statement indicating the number of attempt one has taken to clear a particular subject/year.

Photocopy of Internship Completion Certificate / Internship Completed Certificate.

Photocopy of Degree Certificate / Provisional Degree Certificate

Photocopy of Registration Certificate

 

The completed Application Form has to reach COMEDK office by speed post or courier on or before Friday the 10th January 2013 (before 5:00 PM) to the following address.
