Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to conduct JEE Main 2013

JEE (Main) Examination 2013 (Earlier AIEEE) for admissions to B.E./B.Tech courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other centrally funded institutions (CFTIs)

JEE (Main) (Paper I of earlier AIEEE) for B.E./B.Tech will be held in two modes, viz offline and online (CBT).

Admission to NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs

For NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs – Merit List will consider 40% weightage for Class XII Exam and 60% to the performance in JEE (Main) Examination

For Admission to IITs, IIS , IT-BHU and Indian School of Mines

The admission to the undergraduate programmes at the IITs and ISMU, Dhanbad for the year 2013 will be based on a two-tier test. The first test called the JEE (Main), will be held during the month of April, 2013 (both offline and online). This test will be conducted by CBSE. The second test, called the JEE (Advanced), will be held on June 2, 2013 (only offline) as per IIT sources

Top 1.5 lakh rankers of JEE (Main) will be eligible for JEE (Advanced) earlier IIT JEE (from all categories (GE, OBC (NCL), SC and ST)

JEE MAIN 2013 PATTERN

The JEE (Main)-2013 (Paper I of earlier AIEEE) will have one objective type question paper. The paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The duration of the paper will be 3 (Three) Hours.
As it was in AIEEE, the JEE (Main)-2013 Paper II for B.Arch/B.Planning admissions will have one Question Paper consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test. The duration of the paper will be 3 (Three) Hours.

JEE ADVANCED 2013 PATTERN

The JEE (Advanced)-2013 will have two objective type papers.

Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Duration of each paper will be 3-hours.

Question papers will be in both English and Hindi.

Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories.

Ø       Last Date for Payment of Exam Fee using Credit/Debit Card is 26thDecember, 2012 upto mid night

Ø       Last Date for Payment of Exam Fee using Demand Draft is 28thDecember, 2012 upto 5:00 PM

Last Date for Printing of Confirmation Page is 31st December, 2012 upto 5:00 PM

Eligibility:

JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria:

1.      The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE Main 2013 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII ) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.

2.      Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in 2013 may also appear in JEE Main 2013 provisionally.

3.      However, JEE Main 2013 Admission Criteria in the concerned institution / university will be followed as prescribed by concerned university / institution and as per the guidelines & criteria prescribed by AICTE.

4.      The candidates who are seeking admission in NITs, IIITs or CFTIs must ensure their eligibility for the admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.

5.      The candidates who are aspirants only for IITs and ISM Dhanbad must ensure their eligibility for admission in IITs and ISM Dhanbad.

6.      The candidates who are aspirants for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs , IITs and ISM Dhanbad must ensure their eligibility for admission in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, IITs and ISM Dhanbad.

Qualifying Examinations for JEE Main 2013:

JEE Main 2013 List of Qualifying Examinations:

·          The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central / State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

·          Intermediate or two – year Pre – University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.

·          Final Examination of the two – year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

·          Any Public School / Board / University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

·          H.S.C. Vocational Examination.

·          A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

·          3 or 4 – year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Number of Attempts in JEE Main 2013 Exam:

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE Main 2013 shall be limited to 3 (three) attempts uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. The candidates passed +2 exams in 2011 or 2012 or appearing in +2 in 2013 are only eligible to appear in JEE Main 2013. Candidates passed +2 in 2010 or before or appearing in 2014 are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2013.

JEE Main 2013 Improvement of Marks / Results:

If a candidate wants to improve his performance in Board’s Exam, he / she can do so but for consideration of that year’s result he / she has to appear in all the subjects and not the partial.
How To Apply:

The JEE Main 2013 Application Forms for Admission in Indian Premier Institutes IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFIs will be made available Online from November 1st 2012.

All the Students who aspires to appear for Admissions in IITs, NITs,IIITs and CFIs must apply Online through the JEE Main 2013 Online Application form Portal.

Students are hereby informed that the JEE 2012 Application Form will not be Sold in the Helpline centers i.e. JEE Main Offline Application Forms will not be available for the Students. Students must apply only Online for JEE Main 2013.

Important Dates:

JEE (MAIN) 2013 Offline Paper 1 and Paper 2 on April 7, 2013

The offline examination for JEE (Main) will be held on 7th April, 2013. Online examinations will be held thereafter in April, 2013

The examination (Paper II of earlier AIEEE) for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs will be held on 7th April, 2013 in offline mode only.
