NEET MDS 2017 – The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will be conducting NEET MDS 2017 from November 30 to December 3, 2016. The Ministry of Health and Welfare, Government of India has scrapped off AIPGDEE, which was a national level dental entrance examination, and introduced NEET MDS. As per the Dentists Act, 1948 w.e.f Academic Session – 2017, all aspirants will have to qualify NEET MDS exam to be accepted in any state or institutional level MDS courses. NEET MDS 2017 is a single window entrance examination and will be a computer based test to be held across 41 cities in the country. Seats Covered Under NEET MDS 2017
Seats for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses for the academic session 2017-2018 are available under the following:
All India 50% Quota Seats for MDS Courses (all seats except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir & Telangana).
State Quota Seats for MDS Courses for all States/Union Territories of India (including Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir & Telangana).
MDS Diploma Courses at all Private Dental Colleges, Institutions & Universities all across the country.
MDS Courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
The following institution is not covered by centralized admissions for MDS seats through NEET MDS 2017 session:

Eligibility: |
Candidates who are applying for NEET MDS are advised check the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. Candidates who fail to fulfil the required criteria will not be able to qualify for the examination.
· Candidate should be registered with the Dental Council of India or State Dental Council.
· Candidate must have graduated with Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) degree from a recognized university.
· 12 months in rotation or practical training must have been completed by the candidate on or before March 31, 2017. This is not valid for candidates who had passed their final examination on or before 1988 and holds a recognized degree of BDS.
· Registration with State Dental Councils is necessary.
· Candidates who have studied/passed BDS from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for 50% All India Quota seats.
· In some universities and institutions, candidates who are already pursuing any PG course in their University or in any other University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course.

NEET MDS Application Procedure 2017
Online applications for NEET MDS 2017 has started from September 26, 2016. The link to apply for NEET MDS 2017 is provided on the page. Candidates can click on the link and get directed to the registration portal. Registration closes down on October 31, 2016. Candidates will have to register themselves and create a profile. Personal details like date of birth, parent’s name and more will need to be provided along with contact information and educational information. Uploading of photograph and signature will need to be done by the candidate. The exam dates and centre can be chosen by the candidates on first come first serve basis. Candidates can pay the application fees online through net banking/credit card/debit card. Admit card will be issued for candidates who have successfully registered and paid the application fees. NEET MDS Admit Card 2017
The admit card of NEET MDS 2017 will be sent to the registered email address of the candidate within 24 hours of scheduling. Registered candidates can login into their profile using their username and password to download the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, candidates can contact the authorized officials to rectify their admit cards.
Candidates have to note that the following documents needs to be brought to the test centre:
1. Printed copy of admit card with a photo of the candidate pasted on it.
2. Photocopy of Permanent or Provisional SDC/DCI registration which will be retained by the test centre.
3. Valid Identity card of the candidate (Voter ID/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport/Aadhar Card)
NEET MDS 2017 Exam Pattern
NBE will be conducting an online examination for NEET MDS 2017 aspirants. The Computer Based Test will be based on the core subjects of Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) and will test the candidate’s basic concepts of dental sciences.

A Demo test will also be provided to the candidates to feel the functionality of the actual test. The demo test will be available on NEET website www.nbe.edu.in from November 1 – November 20, 2016. Candidates are advised to go through the demo test carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, layout and navigation.
NEET MDS 2017 Syllabus
The syllabus of the exam shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all the subjects/syllabus taught during the BDS course as prescribed in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 as amended from time to time.

NEET MDS 2017 Result
The results of NEET MDS 2017 will be released online on January 15, 2017. The link to download the result will be available here as soon as it is released. Qualified candidates will be notified online through the official website. Candidates who have qualified for the counselling can download their rank card online through their registered account. Candidates are requested to keep the rank card safely for future use. The validity of the result of NEET MDS 2017 shall only be for the current admission session for MDS sessions and cannot be carried forward to the next session. In the case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, their inter se merit will be determined according to age. Older candidates will get preference over younger. NBE will be declaring results for all India 50% quota seats for MDS courses, state quota seats for all MDS courses of all seats, admission to MDS courses in private dental institutes and in AFMS institutes.
NEET MDS 2017 Cutoff
Candidates who secure the minimum required scores in the entrance examination will be eligible to proceed for counselling. The cutoff is determined by the NBE on the basis of the minimum qualifying marks, number of seats, number of applicants and previous year’s cutoff. The NEET MDS Cutoff 2017 is listed below:

NEET MDS 2017 Merit List
NBE will be releasing four types of Merit List:
1. All India NEET MDS 2017 Rank: Overall position of a candidate among all the candidates who have appeared for NEET MDS 2017.
2. All India 50% Quota Rank: Overall position of a candidate among NEET MDS 2017 candidates for All India 50% Quota.
3. All India 50% Quota Category Rank: Overall position of a candidate in the category opted by the candidate.
4. State Quota/Private Dental College/Deemed University/AFMS Rank: This merit list will be based on the guidelines of the concerned authority.
NEET MDS Counselling 2017
The counselling of NEET MDS 2017 will be online. The counselling of All India 50% Quota Seats will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS). Counselling for state quota seats, private dental institutes and armed forces medical service will be done by the concerned authority. Candidates will be allotted seats according to the merit list where the ranks of the candidates are specified.
