- About B.K.D. College of Education for Women: Paonta Sahib, due to its geographical and historical nuances chalks out a place for itself on the map of Himachal Pradesh. Its natural surrounding captivates the hearts of the people. The river Yamuna flows in serenity on the banks of which the Holy Gurudwara of 10th Pathshahi is situated. The hills and mountains surround the area like a protective shield. The peace and tranquility of the region pulsates with the rhythm of the tides of Yamuna.
The splendor of the exotica accords to the charisma of the region. The natural landscape of this religious land attracts tourists from all comers of India and abroad..
Baba Kirpal Dass College of Education is housed in a spacious magnificent newly constructed building adjoining to Gurudwara Tapo Shilla on the banks of river Yamuna.
Baba Shri Chand Memorial Trust, Paonta Sahib, Distt. Sirmour was constituted in the year 1993 by some public-spirited persons to promote the cause of women education in this area. They decided to start a Degree College exclusively for providing higher education to girls. This initiative was taken keeping in view the need of higher education of the women of this area, as there was no college, Govt. or private within a radius of 45 K.M. at that time. Absence of an institution of higher learning has been effecting all but especially the girls as most of their parents could not affords to send their daughters outside because of lack of FINANCE which led to drop outs after +2 stage. The noble venture of the Trust was appreciated by the people of this area as well as by H.P.Govt. and H.P. University. As a result there of the above named college was granted recognition and affiliation by H.P. Govt. and H.P. University in the faculties of Arts and Commerce. Since then the college has made splendid progress in the academic, cultural and sports sphere and its result have been cent percent throughout. A renowned academician Principal has been source of inspiration to us since the beginning of the college 1999-2000 B.Ed. Feeling encouraged by its progress and also to fulfil one of its objectives, the Trust decided to start B.Ed. course. They approached the National Council of Teacher s Education, in Jaipur for the grant of recognition. They also approached the H.P. Govt. and H.P. University for the grant of permission and affiliation.
The H.P. Govt. has granted permission and allotted 60 seats to the institution for which the people of the area will ever remain grateful to it. The National Council of Teacher's Education, Jaipur has also given recognition to it. The Trust further proposes to start E.T.E. in the college in near future. The trust is going to establish chair to conduct research in the Comparative Philosophy of all religions.

Eligibility:Eligibility Condition a. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Through Regular Mode
i. The candidates with at least 50.00 percent marks or 5.01 if CGPA or Grade B if in letter Grade in the Bachelor's Degree (Medical / Non-medical / Commerce / Arts) and/or in the Master's Degree in the Sciences /Social Sciences / Humanities/ Commerce. Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55.00 percent or 5.51 if CGPA or Grade B+ if in letter Grade or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
ii. At least 45.00 percent or 4.51 if CGPA or C Grade if in the letter Grade in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped categories in the aforesaid Bachelor's/Master's Degree at [(a)i] and 50.00 percent marks or 5.01 if CGPA or Grade B for Bachelor's in Engineering or technology from a recognized University established by law in India are eligible for admission in the programme.
Note: No relaxation, even 0.01 percent in the above prescribed percentage of marks shall be granted under any circumstances
iii. Post graduation is considered only to make those candidates eligible who are not eligible on the basis of qualifying examination but the post graduation will not be the merit criteria. The Post graduation must be in one of the school subjects and the subject offered at Post Graduation level should be the same as at graduation level.
iv. The reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-serviceman and Physically handicapped categories will be as per the existing rules of Himachal Pradesh Government.
b. Division of Seats (Regular Mode)
i. 85% seats will be reserved to the candidates of Himachal Pradesh State and 15% will be open to the candidates of other states /UTs. It is compulsory for all the candidate to produce bonafide /domicile certificate at the time of admission.
ii. 10% out of 85% state quota seats in non government self-financing institutions shall be treated as management quota seats and shall be brought out of the purview of centralized counselling to be conducted by the university. The management of the institute shall fill up management quota seats on the basis of the merit of entrance test through its own counselling in a transparent manner. There shall be no reservation, whatsoever, in respect of the prescribed management quota seats. The basic eligibility criteria shall remain the same a s in case of other students.
c. Admission to the B. Ed. Course is subject based: (Regular Mode)
i. At the time of admission each candidate shall opt for two teaching subjects. A candidate can opt only those teaching subjects, which he/she has studied at graduation/ post graduation level. The candidate must have studied the subjects / subject combinations for at least three years at Bachelor's level and two years at Master's level.
ii. Honour's students shall opt for teaching subjects (one major subject in which they have obtained honour, and other subsidiary subject which should have been studied for at least one year.
iii. In case of CBCS (RUSA) one major and one minor which should have been studied at least for three years or six semesters.
iv.The candidates who have passed additional subjects at graduation level can opt for only those teaching subjects, marks of which are taken into account for the purpose of calculating percentage of marks at graduation level.
The following will be the teaching subject for the students of different streams as under:
I. B.Com/M.Com students shall opt following teaching subjects:
i. Teaching of one of the languages i.e. English/Hindi/Sanskrit.
ii. Teaching of Commerce.
II. B.Sc. (Medical) graduates shall opt the following two teaching subjects:
i. Teaching of Life Sciences
ii. Teaching of Physical Sciences
III. B.Sc. (Non-medical) graduates shall opt the following two teaching subjects:
i. Teaching of Mathematics
ii. Teaching of Physical Sciences
IV. Arts graduates shall opt following teaching subjects:
i) Teaching of Social Sciences: Teaching of Social Sciences shall be opted by the candidates who have taken any one of the following subjects at B.A./M.A. level: 1). History 2). Geography 3). Political Science 4). Sociology 5) Economics 6). Public Administration OR Teaching of Mathematics: It shall be opted by the candidates who have tak en Mathematics as one of the subjects at their graduation level.
Teaching of any one of the languages i.e. English, Hindi and Sanskrit provided the candidate has studied the subject at the graduation level.
Documents to be Produced at the time of Admission:-
The following documents, in original, have to be shown at the time of admission to the college and one attested copy of each has to be submitted for office record.
1. Matriculation Certificate.
2. 10+2 Examination Certificate.

Eligibility:Educational Qualifications:-
a. Senior Secondary School Certificate or Intermediate or 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks for 10+2 candidates only.
b. Age limit for D.El.Ed. CET 2015 The age limit will be between 16-30 years as on the date of the conduct of D.El.Ed. CET 2015 for all candidates,. Relaxation of five years in the upper age limit shall be given to the candidates of reserved categories as per the existing rules regulation and instructions of the State Government issued from time to time there will be no upper age limit in case of Ex-servicemen candidates only.
* The age limit for all candidates of General category and its sub-categories except Physically Handicapped Person and Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighters: Born between 11.7.1985 and 11.7.1999
* Age limit for all Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC, Physically Handicapped persons and children/grant children of freedom fighters and distinguished sports person. Born between 11.7.1980 and 11.7.1999
c. The relaxation of 5% marks in minimum educational qualification is available to SC/ST/OBC/PHH /Gen.distinguished sports person candidates. The candidates are also directed to bring their original Certificates with attested photocopies thereof in support of their age, Academic Qualification, proof of Domicile (Himachali Bonafide Certificate) and the category/ sub category to which they belong. The Certificate to be produced in support of the category/sub category to which they belong should have been issued by the competent authority on the prescribed format (annexure-A) of the government as per Govt. norms for checking the eligibility as per instruction at the time of admission before the D.I.E.Ts Admission Committee.
1. For IRDP/BPL CANDIDATES:- the IRDP/BPL certificate should have been issued by the competent authority within 6 months as on the date of admission
2.For SC/ST Candidates :- SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority
3.For OBC Candidates:- The OBC Certificates should have been issued by the competent authority within one year as on the date of online counseling. In case of OBC Certificate is more than one year, the OBC candidate shall submit an affidavit (on stamp paper of Rs. 5/-) duly attested by the 1st class Magistrate/Oath Commissioner stating "That his/her status has not been changed and he/she is not excluded from the category of Other Backward Classes (OBC) on account of being covered under creamy layer" as per the instruction issued by the Govt. of HP.
4. For Ex-Serviceman:- Discharge Book (with attested copy) Certificate from Dy. Director, Sanik Walfare Office of the District concerned.
5. For Ward of Ex-Service Man (A):- latest certificates from the Patwari/Pradhan of Gram Panchyat/President of Municipal Committee of Notified area Committee/Exicutive Officer of the Municipal Co-operation of the area duly countersigned by the Tehsildar/SDM of the area and (B) Latest affidavit (On Stamp Paper of RS. 5/-) duly attested by the Tehsildar/SDM of the area on the prescribed form. Annexure-A (5A) The married daughter of ex-service-Man are not covered under this category
6.For Physically Handicapped:- minimum 40% disability, Medical Certificates issued by the Medical Board duly countersigned by the Chief Medical Officer(CMO)
7.For Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighter Candidates:- Certificate issued by the competent authority.
