Admission Procedure

Admission to the courses will be made purely on the basis of merit For MBA course the merit shall be determined on the basis of marks secured at the Entrance Test. Admission into LL.M shall be done on the basis of merit (determined on the basis of aggregate marks secured in the LL.B/ B.L Examination) Admission into MCA (Lateral Entry) shall be done on the basis of merit (determined on the basis of aggregate marks secured in the BCA/B.Sc Computer Science Examination) All original documents will be returned to the candidates seeking Spot Admission on the same day on the spot after verification

To the candidates seeking Postal Admission all original documents will be returned by Registered Post / Speed Post along with admission letter in due course after verification

Hence, candidates submitting applications for Postal Admission are advised to keep sufficient number of attested copies of certificates and mark sheets for their use as it may take two or three months to return the documents after verification.

The applicants seeking admission into Post-Graduate courses are advised to carefully follow the Annexures attached with the prospectus while filling up the special paper titles in the Admission Application Form as well as in the examination form.

The detailed Courses of Studies are available at Central Store, Berhampur University and can be obtained on payment.

Students from any University other than the Berhampur University are required to submit Migration Certificate at the time of admission, failing which, an undertaking to that effect shall have to be enclosed along with the application to submit the Migration Certificate in the ‘month’ of November without fine or with a late fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees two hundred) only within the month of December or with a late fine of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred) only within a period of one year from the last date of submission of application form for admission into the course, failing which the result of the student/candidate shall not be published

A candidate who has passed the LL.B examination with a minimum of 55% of marks in aggregate for (general category) and a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate (for the candidates belonging to the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes) are eligible to apply.

Candidates can obtain the application form.

Along with the duly filled-in application form, candidates should submit an account payee bank draft of Rs.500/- only for general candidates and Rs.400/- (Four hundred) for SC/ST candidates towards processing-cum-application form fee drawn in favour of Principal, Lingaraj Law College, payable at Berhampur on any nationalised bank.

Prescribed form duly filled in along with the required documents and fee (complete in all respect) must be sent to the Principal, Lingaraj Law College, Berhampur- 760 010, Dist: Ganjam, Odisha by registered post/speed post.

Selection Procedure for Berhampur University:

Admission into LL.M. will be made on the basis of carrier points/marks secured in the qualifying examinations.

Reservations for the Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes: 38.75 % of the seats in different courses are reserved i.e. for candidates belonging to the SC (22.5%) and the SC (16.25%)

A candidate who has passed the M.A/M.Sc/M.Com or any other examination recognised by Berhampur University as equivalent there to, with at least 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade (50 per cent of marks or equivalent grade for the candidates belonging to the scheduled caste or schedule tribe categories) is eligible for admission into the M.Phil programme in that subject.

For M.Phil in Women's Studies Program: A candidate having a post-graduate degree from Berhampur University or from any other university recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade (50 per cent marks or equivalent grade for the candidates belonging to the scheduled caste or schedule tribe categories) is eligible for admission.

Candidates seeking admission must enclose with the application form a crossed demand draft/banker's cheque for Rs 1,000 towards processing and entrance test fee, drawn in favour of the Head of the Department concerned for which admission is sought/Director, WSRC in case of M.Phil in Women's Studies, and payable at the SBI, Bhanja Bihar (Code 2107), Berhampur-760007.

Selection Procedure for Berhampur University:

Admission into all M.Phil programs shall be done through an entrance test followed by an interview.
