The BIT Extension Centre at Lalpur,
Currently the Lalpur Extension Centre has over 1768 students on its rolls of which almost 560 are postgraduate students.
1. Maximum age limit is 21 years on 01.10.2016, (26 years for SC/ST)
2. Pass in Class 10 with minimum aggregate 60% (50% for SC/ST) counting all required subjects.
3. Pass in Class 12/Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE) and with minimum aggregate 70% (50% for SC/ST) counting all required subjects.
4. For BBA Programme, the candidate must have passed in English in Class 12/QE .
5. For BCA programme, the applicant must have passed in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Information Practices or Equivalent as one of the subject in class 12 or Equivalent QE
Selection Procedure:
Admission to the courses will be only on merit determined by the aggregate percentage marks obtained in the required subjects in Class 12/QE. Counselling will be held at the Institute’s Lalpur Campus.
Candidates who have appeared for Class 12/QE in 2016 can also apply. They must produce Marksheet of QE at the time of Counselling, along with other documents.

F In case the candidate wants to use second and third application forms for different programmes, he/she has to submit additional crossed demand draft of Rs. 250/- for each additional programme in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at the location of Place for Study.

F Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India/AIU. This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education (10+2+3 system) after completing higher secondary schooling (Class 12 or equivalent).
F Candidates of BSc / BA Honours must have minimum 55% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in their Honours subject. Candidates of other graduate courses must have minimum 55% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in ALL subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects).
F Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.
F Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2013 can also apply, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of the counselling they must bring:

F Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence (http://www.edcil.co.in), and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate well in advance from the evaluation division of the AIU (website http://www.aiuweb.org).
F In case any Board / University awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the procedure prescribed by the Board / University. In case a University does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

You may use one application form to apply for ONLY one programme – ME or MPharm or MTech or MUP or MSc and ONLY one discipline within that programme – for example only ME in Mechanical or only MTech in Computer Science or only MSc in Bioinformatics. However, one application form can be used to apply for various specializations within some ME programmes and within the M. Pharm programme, and in the case of MSc programmes in Bioinformatics and Geoinformatics, you may also use one application form to apply for different Places for Study, in order of preference. Please use separate application form(s) to apply for two (or more) programme(s). Applications made on photocopies of forms are not acceptable.
