    Course Description: B.Tech. at Deoghar, Jaipur and Patna off Campuses

    Eligibility:

    1) Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1 October 1995 are eligible for admission. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates who were born on or after 1 October 1990 are eligible for admission. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board (Class X, High School) certificate only will be taken as authentic. 
    2) Candidate must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII), or its equivalent, referred to as the qualifying examination. Candidates with compartment are not eligible to apply for the program. 
    3) Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech. programme shall be as under:
    Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent Qualifying Examination
    1. Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4- Chemistry, 5- Any other Subject [Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are as compulsory subjects]. 
    With at least 60% marks for General / BC (55% for SC/ST/PwD) candidates in the above subjects taken together.

    4) BC-I / BC-II of Jharkhand State for admission at BIT Deoghar Campus: The candidates must have passed their qualifying exam from the State of Jharkhand and should be BC-I (EBC)/ BC-II (OBC) of Jharkhand State only. A certificate should have been issued on or after 1st April 2019.

    5) BC-I / BC-II of Bihar State for admission at BIT Patna Campus: The candidates must have passed their qualifying exam from the State of Bihar and should be BC-I (EBC)/BC-II (OBC)/ BC (OBC) Girls of Bihar State only. A certificate should have been issued on or after 1st April 2019.

    Notes:

    ·          Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence (http://www.edcil.co.in), and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website http://www.aiuweb.org).

    ·          In case any Board awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent percentage of marks would be multiplied GPA/CGPA by 10 or based on the procedure prescribed by the Board.

    ·          Candidate must have adequate proficiency in written & spoken English to cope up with the programme as all instructions and examinations will be in English only.

    ·          At any level of the studies [Class X or Class XII], a candidate / applicant must have passed all the required subjects at that level from the same Board.

    Selection Procedure:

    Provisional selection will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in Class 10 and Class 12 (10+2) / equivalent examination [30% weightage to Class 10 marks and 70% weightage to Class 12 (10+2) marks]. However, candidates must meet the age criteria and other minimum academic requirements [refer eligibility criteria] and on various reservation criteria of State and Central Government [refer distribution of seats at each Campus].

    Eligibility:

    1.     Candidates must have any of the following graduate qualifications:
    B.Sc. (Animation and Multimedia) / Bachelor of Fine Art / Bachelor of Design/ Bachelor of Visual Art / Bachelor in Performing Arts with minimum 50% marks (45 % for SC/ST)
    OR
    Graduate (10+2+3) in any stream from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45 % for SC/ST) and 1 year experience in a creative field

    2.     Candidates appearing for final examinations in 2020 can also apply and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of counselling they must bring a certificate in original from the Principal of Institute stating that:

    a). She/he will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining his/her qualifying degree.

    b). She/he has obtained requisite marks or equivalent based on latest available grades / marks. Provisionally selected candidates will be required to sign an undertaking at the time of admission on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper (as format given in Sec-11). Further, their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks. They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31 October 2020. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

    3.     Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if

    (a) The programmes are recognized by the tripartite panel of AICTE-UGC-DEC,

    (b) They have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum requisite marks, calculated as per item (1) above. They must enclose photocopy of pass certificate and mark sheets of qualifying examination with their application.     3.     At any level of the studies [class X, class XII, graduation or post-graduation], a candidate / applicant must have passed all the required subjects at that level from the same board/ University

    The candidates must have passed in Mathematics / Computer Science / Information Practices as one of the subject in Class 12 / Equivalent Exam


    Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India / AIU


    This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling [Class 12 or equivalent] (10+2+3 system)


    Candidates must have one of following qualifications:


    Bachelor of Computer Applications, or


    B.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics, or


    B.Sc. with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at graduate level


    Candidates with above mentioned qualifications (item-3) must have minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in all subjects in which candidate has appeared


    Candidates with B.Sc. Honours must have minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average in their Honours subject


    Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2017 can also apply, provided they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item 4 or 5 above) based on latest available grades / marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of reporting for the verification of documents cum admission such an applicant must bring a certificate in original from the Principal of Institute stating that:

    Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification with requisite marks as per item (4 or 5) above


    They must submit proof of passing their final exams with requisite marks by 31st October 2017. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission


    Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if (a) the programmes are recognized by the DEC-IGNOU


    (b) They have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum 55% marks in average (50% for SC/ST/PwD) calculated as per item (4 or 5) above. They must enclose photocopies of pass certificate, mark sheets of qualifying examination and proof of the programme recognized by the DEC-IGNOU in letter head of the Institute/College/University. with their application [Appearing candidate in distance learning programmes, whose results are yet to be declared, are not eligible to apply]


    Selection Procedure


    Provisional selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidate in Entrance Test to be conducted by the Campus on 18th August 2017.


    The provisionally selected candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria given below, else the offers will be withdrawn.


    The respective Campus will notify the list of provisionally selected candidates by 03.00 pm on the same day. All results will be announced only on the Notice Boards of the concerned Campus only


    Provisionally selected candidates must take admission by the due date mentioned in the notification by the Campus, failing which their provisional offers of admission will be cancelled and given to those eligible candidates who are next in merit


    Candidates are therefore advised to come prepared with fees and all original documents as required for admission, if provisionally selected for the same

    Interested and eligible candidates, may report for spot admission in MCA programme 2017 at the Campus of their Choice where they want to take admission on 18th August 2017 at 10.00 am, with their duly completed form (link given below), all relevant documents / certificates in original, and one set of photocopies of each, and crossed DD of Rs.2500/- (Rs.1500/- for SC/ST) towards application fee in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology” payable at Ranchi, for Spot Registration and Entrance Test


    Fresh candidates are also eligible to take admission


    Candidates, who had applied earlier for the programme but could not appear in the Entrance Test/Online Test or not selected or selected but could not joined the program need not to pay the application fee again

    (a) They acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment, (b) the programmes are recognized by the DEC-IGNOU for M.A./M.Sc. and DEC-UGC-AICTE or MHRD for others, (c) they have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum requisite marks, calculated as per item (1) above. They must enclose photocopies of (i) work experience certificate (ii) pass certificate and marksheets of qualifying examination with their application.

Pharm programme in Clinical Research, and Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, M.S. Clinical Research & Pharmacovigilance, Postgraduate Diploma in Bioanalytical Techniques, Pharmacovigilance. Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme / qualifying examination in 2013 can also apply, provided they have obtained 60 % marks or equivalent (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) based on latest available grades / marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of the interview / counselling they must bring the following:

    a) A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute stating they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their qualifying degree.

    b) A certificate in original from the Principal certifying that they have obtained 60% marks or equivalent (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) based on latest available grades / marks. Marks to be calculated as per items (1) / (2) above. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks (45% in case of SC/ ST). They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31 October 2013. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

    2.      Pass  in Class 10 with minimum  aggregate 60% (50% for SC/ST)  counting all required subjects

    3.      Pass in Class 12/Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE) and with minimum aggregate 60% (50% for SC/ST) counting all required subjects.

    4.      For BBA Programme, the candidate must have passed in English in Class 12/QE

    5.      For BCA programme, the candidate must have passed in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Information Practices or Equivalent as one of the subjects in class 12 or Equivalent QE

    6.      For B.Sc.(Animation & Multimedia), where candidates are largely selected on the basis of creativity aptitude, pass  in Class 10 and 12/QE is required with minimum aggregate of 50% (45%  for SC/ST) in all required  subjects.

     

    Selection Procedure:  For BBA and BCA: Admission to the courses will be only on merit determined by the aggregate percentage marks obtained in the required subjects  in Class 12/QE. Counselling will be held at the Institute Campus, which is the applicant’s choice for “Place for Study”.

    For B.Sc.(A&M) : Admission to the course will be on the basis of merit rank & the performance in the Creativity Aptitude Test to be held at Noida and Jaipur  Campuses only, viz. at the choice of “Place for Study”.

    Candidates who have appeared for Class 12/QE in 2009 can also apply. They must produce Marksheet of QE at the time of Counselling, along with other documents.

     

    The three forms in a set have the same unique form number. They are meant for the sole use of ONE candidate and are not transferable under any conditions. When receiving your Brochure you are advised to check that the two forms with your Brochure have the same form number. If more than one candidate submits forms from the same set having the same number, all applications with this number will be cancelled


    How to apply:

    3.      To receive the Undergraduate Information Brochure of 2009 and form by post, send a crossed bank draft for Rs. 600/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi, along with two self-addressed slips of paper (10 cm x 10 cm) with your name and address clearly written in block capitals and telephone number, and a letter mentioning the course applied for to reach on or before May 30, 2009. Write UG A- 2009 on the envelope.

    4.      With each Brochure, candidates will find a set of three application forms (non-transferable). Based on their eligibility, candidates may use each form to apply for one programme at one Place for Study Candidates must send an application fee of Rs. 250 with each completed application form to their choice of place for study for that programme by the date specified. Each set of application forms has a Form Number, which may be noted and cited in correspondence if required. Candidates should keep photocopies of their completed forms for their own reference.

    5.      Candidates should complete each application form neatly and send in one of the envelopes provided, along with the application fee of Rs 250/- by crossed Demand Draft, photocopies of pass certificate of class 10 , Marksheet of class 10 & class 12 and caste/Special category certificate and one completed acknowledgement card, to Director of the Campus, which is the choice of Place for Study by June 13, 2009. Acknowledgement cards will be marked with a Registration Number and sent back to candidates. The application fee of Rs 250/- by crossed Demand Draft should be made in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at the location of Place for Study. Write your name, your application form no. and course applied – BBA or BBA (Evening, Noida) or BCA or B.Sc. (A&M) on the back of photocopies of the documents.

    6.      Candidates may use any one of the three application forms to apply for only one of the above programmes at any one choice of Place for Study. They may also use the second & third application forms to apply for another programme following the same procedure as described for the first one.
