    Eligibility:

    (i)            For admission to all the above programmes except B. Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.
    (ii)           For admission to B. Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.

    Admissions to all the programmes are subject to the conditions given below:

    The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology subjects.

    Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2020 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2020 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2018 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2020. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2020.

    Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2020. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

    Direct Admission to Board Toppers:

    In the past, admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2020 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2020 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Further details about this scheme will be available at BITS admission website by 15th of May 2020.


    How to apply:

    Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2020 by applying in the prescribed application form online. A candidate has to complete the application form online at www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees. Also take the printout of the filled-in form for your future reference. The prescribed fee for BITSAT-2020 is Rs. 3300/- (three thousand three hundred only) for male candidates and Rs. 2800/- (two thousand eight hundred only) for female candidates. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center the application fee for both male and female candidates will be same and will be US $90 (Rs.6300). Details for payment of fees are available at the admission website while applying online.

    Those who register for the test and reserve test dates have to download the ‘Hall ticket’, along with instructions, from BITS admission website as per the schedule given earlier. The tests will be conducted during 16th May – 25th May 2020.

    Procedure for Applying for admission to BITS:

    In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT-2020, candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS giving details of their 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered at three Indian campuses of BITS. The prescribed application form for admission, the detailed application procedure, details of academic flexibilities such as Dual Degree, transfer etc; admission modality and the final list of Degree programmes offered will be made available at the BITS admission website, by 18th May 2020. The completed application form with the required application fee has to be submitted online at the BITS admission site on or before 5.00pm on 18th June 2020.

    Input Qualification: M.E./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Candidates with an M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate will also be considered for Ph.D. admission. For Ph.D Programme in Languages and humanities, candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered. Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS may sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D. under “Aspirants scheme”. Its details are available at www.bitsadmission.com. Under this scheme such employed professionals having long experience and proven competence are admitted and will be allowed to pursue their research work at their own locations. For the Ph.D.Programmes short listed candidates will be asked to come to Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad for test and/or interview during 2nd week of July.

     

    Assistantship and fee waiver

    Candidates admitted to the Higher Degree and Ph.D. programmes will be considered for assistantship in the form of partial tuition fee waiver and monthly stipend. Candidates selected for assistantship will be required to participate in teaching and other academic developmental programme of the institute under the guidance of a mentor.

    Details of BITSAT-2016:

     

    Computer Based Online test’ means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate answers the questions on the computer through the use of keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer. This is unlike the traditional paper-pencil based test, which is generally offered on a single day to all candidates. BITSAT-2016 will be offered over a period of time and the candidate can choose the Center, the Day and Time of his/her convenience to take the test, as described in the later sections.

     

    Test Centers for BITSAT-2016:

     

    In order to facilitate a large number of students all over India to participate in this test, apart from Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses of BITS where it is expected that a large number of students will take the test, the Institute is also planning to offer the tests at dedicated test centers in several cities. The planned test centers are in the following cities.

    The final list of centers and the operating days at each center will depend on the number of applicants and their preferences and will be announced only after all the applications are received and candidates will be informed of the same through BITS website, so that the candidates can choose their date for the test as per their convenience and availability of slots in any of these centers.


    How to apply:

    Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2016 by applying in the prescribed application form online.  Complete the application form Online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and take the print out of the filled form. The completed application form along with the prescribed fees of Rs 1000/- (Rs 500/- for female candidates) should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani – 333 031. Details for payment of fees are available at the website while applying online.

     

    Special provision for Female candidates: The BITSAT application fee for female candidates is Rs 500/- only instead of Rs 1000/-. Further, the Institute will try its best to accommodate all female candidates at their first preference of test centers.

    Application form can also be obtained by post from the Admissions Office, BITS, Pilani by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name  and gender with complete postal address, accompanied by a crossed demand draft for Rs 1100/- (Rs 600/- for Female candidates). This amount includes the prescribed fees and Rs 100/- towards postal and handling charges. The form will be sent by Speed Post / Registered Post. Requests by post will be accepted only.     Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2010 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2009 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2010 test. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2008 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010

     

    Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2010. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

     

    The Institute considers only the latest performance through a public examination for admission. If the results of the latest examination are not available within the due date for submission of application, the candidate will not be considered even if there are some earlier performances of 12th class or its equivalent or any higher examination available with him/her. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.

     

    Direct Admission to Board Toppers: In the past, admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. Continuing this tradition, the Institute will give direct admission to first rank students of all the central and state boards to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2010 score.

    Eligibility criteria for admission under ‘Direct admission to Board toppers’ scheme:

    To be eligible for admission under the 'Direct admission to Board toppers' scheme, the candidate should be the topper from the science stream having taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects in 12th. To identify the topper, the following criteria will be adopted.

    a) Has taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in 12th and

    b)  Has obtained the highest aggregate percentage of marks in 12th among all the students who have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in 2010 from the Board. For the purpose of calculating the aggregate percentage, the aggregate marks should include the marks of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in addition to other subjects which are required to pass the 12th examination from the Board under consideration. Further, the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subject marks should be included in the aggregate, irrespective of whether the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects are identified as main/optional/elective in his marksheet(s).

    Applicants under the scheme should attach documentary proof in support of their claim, along with the 12th mark sheet and a letter from the Board declaring the candidate as the topper in the specified stream. The Institute will also make efforts to get these data from the different boards on its own. In all cases, the Institute will be guided by the data provided by the concerned Board. In cases where for a particular board, the data available before the deadline is insufficient or inconclusive, the admission committee may decide not to make any offer under the scheme for that specified Board. In all such cases, the decision of the Vice chancellor will be final and binding on the applicants


    How to apply:

    Direct admission of Board Toppers (First Rank Students)

    In the past, admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. The Institute wants to maintain this practice and hence, first rank students of all the central and state boards in India in the year 2010 will be given direct admission to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2010 score. However, they should have obtained the minimum of 80% aggreagte marks in PCM subjects with at least 60% in each of the PCM subjects in their 12th examination. For this purpose, the topper should be from the science stream having taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination. The aggregate marks should contain the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects, in addition to other subjects considered by the board as required passing the 12th examination.

     

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE  

    Register Online and download the application form. The completed application form along with the prescribed fees of Rs. 200/- in the form of crossed Demand draft should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani – 333 031. Through Demand Draft drawn in favour of BITS, Pilani payable at SBBJ-Pilani (Code: 10398) or UCO Bank-Pilani (Code: 0150) or SBI-Pilani (Code: 11309) or ICICI Bank-Jhunjhunu (Code: 0799).

    For admission to any of the above Integrated First Degree programmes Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Further the candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and should have adequate proficiency in English.


    Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2009 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2008 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2009 test. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2007 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2009. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2009.

     

    Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2009. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

     

    Direct Admission to Board Toppers: In the past, admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. Continuing this tradition, the Institute will give direct admission to first rank students of all the central and state boards to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2009 score.

     

    Eligibility criteria for admission under ‘Direct admission to Board toppers’ scheme: To be eligible for admission under the 'Direct admission to Board toppers' scheme, the candidate should be the topper from the science stream having taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects in 12th. To identify the topper, the following criteria will be adopted. a) has taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in 12th and b) has obtained the highest aggregate percentage of marks in 12th among all the students who have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in 2008 from the Board. For the purpose of calculating the aggregate percentage, the aggregate marks should include the marks of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in addition to other subjects which are required to pass the 12th examination from the Board under consideration. Further, the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subject marks should be included in the aggregate, irrespective of whether the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects are identified as main/optional/elective in his mark-sheet(s).

     

    Applicants under the scheme should attach documentary proof in support of their claim, along with the 12th mark sheet and a letter from the Board declaring the candidate as the topper in the specified stream. The Institute will also make efforts to get these data from the different boards on its own. In all cases, the Institute will be guided by the data provided by the concerned Board. In cases where for a particular board, the data available before the deadline is insufficient or inconclusive, the admission committee may decide not to make any offer under the scheme for that specified Board. In all such cases, the decision of the Vice chancellor will be final and binding on the applicants.

    How to apply:

    Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2009 by applying in the prescribed application form online. Complete the application form Online at www.bitsadmission.com  and take the print out of the filled form. The completed application form along with the prescribed fees of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for female candidates) should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani – 333 031. Details for payment of fees are available at the website while applying online.


    Special provision for Female candidates: The BITSAT application fee for female candidates is Rs. 500/- only instead of Rs. 1000/-. Further, the Institute will try its best to accommodate all female candidates at their first preference of test centers.

     

    Application form by can also be obtained by post from the Admissions Office, BITS, Pilani by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name, and gender with complete postal address, accompanied by a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1100/- (Rs. 600/- for Female candidates). This amount includes the prescribed fees and Rs. 100/- towards postal and handling charges. The form will be sent by Speed Post / Registered Post. Requests by post will be accepted only till 21st January 2009. Demand drafts should be drawn in favour of ‘Birla Institute of Technology & Science’ payable at State Bank of India, Pilani (code: 1976) Or State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Pilani (Code: 10398) or UCO Bank, Vidya Vihar, Pilani (Code: 0150) Or ICICI Bank, Jhunjhunu (Code: 0799)

     

    Deadline to apply for BITSAT-2009 by submitting the completed form to the Admissions Office, BITS Pilani is 5.00 PM on 31st January 2009.

     

    Those who register for the test and reserve test dates have to download the ‘Hall ticket’, along with instructions, from BITS website as per the schedule given earlier. The tests will be conducted during 9th May – 12th June 2009.

     

    Procedure for Applying for admission: In addition to applying for and appearing in BITSAT-2009, candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS giving details of their 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered. The prescribed application form for admission, the detailed application procedure and the final list of Degree programmes offered will be available at the BITS website, by 20th May 2009. All the Candidates have to fill the form and a fee of Rs. 200/- has to be submitted with the form. The completed form with the required application fee of Rs. 200/- has to be submitted so as to reach the under-mentioned on or before 5.00 PM on 30th June 2009.
