- About College of Ship Technology:
College of Ship Technology is an educational Institute promoted by Mariners Educational Trust, a trust which envisages empowering the youth for career and challenges in Ship Industry by bringing together ship industry people, using their experience, expertise, resources and services and providing world class Maritime Education and Training. The Trust with a view to provide gainful employment has launched Maritime Education & Training and Ship Building Programmes. It has support of leading Shipping companies and Shipyards in India and abroad. College has advantage of its location which is close to the maritime zones of Cochin, Chennai, Mangalore - all of them having big shipyard business. CST is the only college in India which conducts a University approved Degree course in Ship Building and Repair and run by people with experience and expertise in conducting maritime education & training and has promoted a shipyard company. It also has the course approvals from leading Classification society, DNV.
CST & SBR: The major problem faced by ship building industry in India is the “Delayed Delivery” of the ship with “low quality” compared to leading ship building nations. Both problems are directly linked with availability of trained manpower. The vital part is creation of Multi Skilled Technicians in various aspects of Ship Production and Repair. Govt. of India through its “Sagarmala Project” has high ambition in Indian Ship building and Port facility up gradation. GOI’s Make in India & Skilling India will lead this industry to new heights of success. Govt. of India’s flagship project “Äathmanirbhar Bharath” has opened its door for the defense manufacturing sector also which includes ship building. Modernization of Industry will make high demand for skilled man power. College of Ship Technology, Kerala has been conducting BSc. Ship Building and Repair course affiliated with IMU (Indian Maritime University) since 2010. College is also conducting Ship Production & Repair courses approved by DNV Norway, Ship Wright course, and various other certification courses in specialized fields of Ship Building and Repair. All students passed out from here are placed well in shipping industry.

· This Bachelor’s degree course is of 3 years duration and affiliated to Indian Maritime University.
· Fee: Total course fee for 3 years, (6 semesters) is 4.2 Lakh, inclusive of all. Hostel and Mess extra.

· This program/course will impart good knowledge on Ship Building & Ship Repair Techniques besides honing the self sustaining application skills of the students to fill in the void in terms of the availability of competent application Skilled man power for the ship building and offshore industry.

· The course is practical oriented with specialization in Ship Production and Repairs. Curriculum covers subjects in Entrepreneurship, productivity, labour, quality, Language skills, Work shop Science & Calculations, Engineering & Machine Drawing, CAD, Seamanship & Scaffolding, Painting Technology, Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical & Marine
· Engineering, Marine Electricity & Electronics, Marine Fitter, Marine Welder, Pipe fitting etc. 70% of the course focus on practical skill development. Four weeks training is provided at Shipyard.
