    D.A.V. College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar was established in 1958 in an endeavor to enable girls to empower themselves. The trials and tribulations faced by the administrators and the faculty members in establishing themselves as a multi-faculty Post Graduate institution bore fruit when Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra acknowledged the College as the Best Women College of Kurukshetra University in 2003. The college was also conferred the status of College with Potential for Excellence by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and the college is accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC.D.A.V. College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar has always taken lead in enriching the old with the dynamism and freshness of the new. Always sensitive and responsive to the needs of the society, it regularly adds on in the form of job-oriented innovative courses, programmes, infrastructure, and has adopted projects dedicated to community Service.The college aims at imparting holistic education to its students. It believes in inculcating traditional and cultural values amongst its students. The college is dedicated to educate the women in particular and masses in general; the college started Job Oriented Evening Courses for housewives and working women from the session 2009-2010.
