The University has territorial jurisdiction over seven districts of Upper Assam, viz. Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sibsagar, Golaghat, Lakhimpur and Dhemaji which are spread over both the banks of river
Admission Requirements:
1. A candidate seeking admission to the course for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) shall have to obtain at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent Grade point.
2. Relaxation upto 5% marks may be availed by the candidates belonging to the reserved categories.
3. All applicants seeking admission to the Doctoral programme of the University [except foreign students applying for admission as provided for under clause 9] must clear the Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT).
4. The DURAT is to be conducted annually by the University. The mode of conducting the DURAT shall be decided by the Research Council time to time.
5. The candidates who have qualified the UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/GPAT teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil programme (in regular mode and in the concerned subject) are exempted from appearing the DURAT.
6. However, these candidates have to apply for admission as per the University Notification. These candidates have to appear in a viva-voce/ interview for getting selection for admission.
Admission Procedure
· The Teaching Department/ Centre of Studies concerned shall receive the documents of the intending candidates till 4.30 P.M. of 25th January 2021
· The list of the candidates invited for Viva-Voce shall be notified by the University concerned in the website: www.dibru.ac.in by 03rd February, 2021
· There will be a Viva Voce Examination for all the candidates as: -1) For 30 % weightage for the candidates qualified the DURAT 2020, 2) For 100% weightage for the candidates who are exempted from appearing the DURAT 2020.
· The admission to the Ph.D. and M.Phil Programmes shall be within 03rd to 09th February, 2021 at the teaching Department/ Centre of Studies concerned. The actual schedule of admission shall be notified along with the list of candidates selected for admission in the University website.
· The candidates selected for admission into the Ph.D. or M.Phil Programmes shall have to deposit their Admission and Course Fees of Rs. 6,000/- only through Online Payment mode by using their Debit Card/ Credit Card/ NET banking.
· The candidates are advised to send mail to techsupport@dibru.ac.in for any support regarding deposit of their fees. It may be noted that except Online Payment, no other mode of transaction is permissible.

Candidates having Bachelor degree in any stream including Agriculture, Engineering/Technology, Business Administration and Computer Application from any recognised University securing at least 40% in Major or 45% marks in aggregate
