  • About Directorate of Medical Education and Research:

    The Office of the Surgeon General of Maharashtra state was seperated on 1st May 1970, into two independent directorates namely The Directorate of Medical Education and Research & The Directorate of Health Services.

    Directorate of Medical Education and Research supervises the working of 42 institutions including Medical and Dental Colleges, Teaching Hospitals and Health Units under its purview in order to achieve optimum academic standards.Promotion of research in instituitions is encourages. Despite existing financial constraints, efforts are made to provide maximum facilities required for students' education(Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Super Specialities), hospital services and research.

    The Directorate of Medical Education and Research controls and regulates the administration of 11 Government Medical colleges and Hospitals along with Urban & Rural Health centres attached to them. It also regulates 3 Government Dental colleges & Hospitals. The Directorate supervises the Medical Education i.e.Under Graduate , Post Graduate and Super Specialisation.It also co-ordinates the Research activities in Fundamental Research, Applied Research & Operational Research in the Institutions under its control and through Out-reach Services. This enables the Government to improve Health Status of the people in the society.

    The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 1999 to be eligible to appear for MHT-CET-2017. However, for admission to Ayurved and Unani courses, candidate must be born on or before 01st October 1999

    The Birth certificate indicating name of the candidate, Secondary School Certificate i.e. SSC or equivalent examination certificate or School Leaving Certificate endorsing the date of birth will constitute a valid proof

    The candidate must have passed the SSC or equivalent exam from an Institution situated in the state of Maharashtra

    The candidate must have passed the qualifying exam i.e., HSC, 12th Standard or equivalent exam, from an Institution situated in the State of Maharashtra with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology)

    CET-Marks Eligibility for Admission to MBBS & BDS Courses: A candidate belonging to open category must secure not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at Common Entrance Test i.e. MHT-CET-2017

    A candidate belonging to constitutional reservation and constitutional reservation with Person with Disability (PWD) must secure not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the MHT-CET-2017

    Person with Disability in General category must secure not less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the MHT-CET-2017


    How to apply:

    Payment of fees at State Bank of India (SBI) Branch: The candidate has to take this printed MHCET Bank challan to any of the SBI branches (https://www.sbi.co.in/corporate/branchlocator.htm) to make the payment after 48 hrs of registration

    Please tender Rs. 800/- plus Rs.60/- Bank Commission for Open Candidates and Rs.600/- Plus Rs/60/-Bank Commission for Reservation Category Candidates

    On the printed bank challan, the bank will enter the date of payment, Journal No/Bank Transaction ID, Branch Name & Code and put a bank seal on each part of the bank challan

    The bank will retain the Bank’s copy of the bank challan and return the rest of the bank challan to the candidate

Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate/valid passport/School leaving Certificate of 12th Std. indicating the nationality of the candidate at "INDIAN". Shall constitute the proof of nationality 


    Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Non Resident Indian (NRI)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are not eligible 


    (b) A candidate, who has passed final B.P.Th./ B.O.Th. Exam (recognized as per Maharashtra State Council for Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Act 2002): 


    Final BASLP/BPO Exam (recognized as per the Rehabilitation Council of India Act 1992); from an college/institution situated in the State of Maharashtra is eligible to appear for this exam provided he/she has completed prescribed duration of compulsory rotating internship by 31st August 2017 


    (c) A candidate who is undergoing rotating internship and who is likely to complete the same by 31st August 2017 can appear for PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLPCET 2017 & M.Sc. (P&O)-CET 2017. Such a candidate will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal/Dean of the college regarding the date of completion of internship at the time of Preference form filling process 


    (d) A Candidate, who was admitted to the college/institute, which is now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of the Health Sciences (MUHS) will be eligible till such time as he/she is awarded the degree by the University established under Maharashtra Universities Act 1994 


    Cut off Date for Eligibility: 


    The eligibility of candidate shall be determined for all purposes including the applicability of all these Rules & Regulations by considering the last date of submission of Preference Form as the cut off date 


    It is made abundantly clear that if a candidate is found ineligible or has an invalid reservation claim as on the last date of submission of preference form, in terms of these Rules & Regulations, and if such an ineligible candidate/invalid reservation claim acquires the requisite eligibility after the aforesaid cut off date such subsequent acquisition of eligibility will not make an ineligible candidate

    The Competent Authority shall issue Notice regarding online application form process 


    The Information Brochure containing procedures for Online Common Entrance Test for admission to MPTh, MOTh, MASLP & MSc. (P&O) Postgraduate Courses will be made available on Website of DMER www.dmer.org 


    An applicant seeking admission through PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 will be required to submit single prescribed online application form (ANNEXURE "D" Specimen Copy of online application form) 


    Cost of online application form of PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 & Exam Fee is Rs.2000/- 


    Bank transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees will have to be borne by the applicant. This amount is not refundable 


    PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc. (P&O)-CET 2017 will be conducted online at Mumbai, Centre

    Eligibility:

    For PGP-CET-2017/PGO-CET-2017/PGASLP-CET-2017/M.Sc. (P&O)-CET- 2017 for Postgraduate Courses: 


    (a) Candidate must be an Indian National. Nationality Certificate issued by Dist. Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate/valid passport/School leaving Certificate of 12th Std. indicating the nationality of the candidate at "INDIAN". Shall constitute the proof of nationality 


    Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Non Resident Indian (NRI)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are not eligible 


    (b) A candidate, who has passed final B.P.Th./ B.O.Th. Exam (recognized as per Maharashtra State Council for Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Act 2002): 


    Final BASLP/BPO Exam (recognized as per the Rehabilitation Council of India Act 1992); from an college/institution situated in the State of Maharashtra is eligible to appear for this exam provided he/she has completed prescribed duration of compulsory rotating internship by 31st August 2017 


    (c) A candidate who is undergoing rotating internship and who is likely to complete the same by 31st August 2017 can appear for PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLPCET 2017 & M.Sc. (P&O)-CET 2017. Such a candidate will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal/Dean of the college regarding the date of completion of internship at the time of Preference form filling process 


    (d) A Candidate, who was admitted to the college/institute, which is now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of the Health Sciences (MUHS) will be eligible till such time as he/she is awarded the degree by the University established under Maharashtra Universities Act 1994 


    Cut off Date for Eligibility: 


    The eligibility of candidate shall be determined for all purposes including the applicability of all these Rules & Regulations by considering the last date of submission of Preference Form as the cut off date 


    It is made abundantly clear that if a candidate is found ineligible or has an invalid reservation claim as on the last date of submission of preference form, in terms of these Rules & Regulations, and if such an ineligible candidate/invalid reservation claim acquires the requisite eligibility after the aforesaid cut off date such subsequent acquisition of eligibility will not make an ineligible candidate 


    Non-eligibility of Candidates: 


    The following candidates will not be eligible for applying/appearing at PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 admission: 


    (a) Candidates who have passed Final year B.P.Th./ B.O.Th./ B.A.S.L.P./BPO Exam from institute located outside Maharashtra 


    (b) Candidates who have passed Final year B.P.Th./ B.O.Th./ B.A.S.L.P./BPO exam from institute not recognized by respective Council 


    (c) Candidates who are not completing internship on or before 31st August 2017 


    Basis of Selection 


    Marks obtained by the eligible candidates at the PGP-CET2017/PGOCET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc. (P&O)-CET 2017 will form the basis of selection 


    The following procedure shall be adopted for Determination of the Inter-se-merit of candidates obtaining equal marks at PGP-CET2017/PGOCET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 


    How to apply:

    Application Procedure 


    Procedure of Online Common Entrance Test for Admissions to Postgraduate Courses in Physiotherapy [M.P.Th], Occupational Therapy [M.O.Th], Audiology, Speech & Language Pathology [M.A.S.L.P.] & Prosthetics and Orthotics [M.Sc (P&O)] 


    The Competent Authority shall issue Notice regarding online application form process 


    The Information Brochure containing procedures for Online Common Entrance Test for admission to MPTh, MOTh, MASLP & MSc. (P&O) Postgraduate Courses will be made available on Website of DMER www.dmer.org 


    An applicant seeking admission through PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 will be required to submit single prescribed online application form (ANNEXURE "D" Specimen Copy of online application form) 


    Cost of online application form of PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 & Exam Fee is Rs.2000/- 


    Bank transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees will have to be borne by the applicant. This amount is not refundable 


    PGP-CET2017/PGO-CET2017/PGASLP-CET 2017 & M.Sc. (P&O)-CET 2017 will be conducted online at Mumbai, Centre 


    The details of Online Application Registration Procedure & Process of Online submission of application form are given in Annexure-E. Candidates should follow these procedure/guidelines at the time of filling online application form 


    Admit Card 


    The Admit Cards will be downloaded from www.dmer.org website after login during 02nd August 2017 to 08th August 2017 


    Candidate has to go to the Examination Centre with downloaded Admit Card and any original Photo ID proof as given in the admit card (Aadhar Card/ Driving license/PAN Card/Pass port) 


    Issue of Admit Card is merely an enabling document for appearing at the PGPCET2017/ PGO-CET2017/PGASLP- CET 2017 & M.Sc.(P&O)-CET 2017 and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility conditions of admission

    Please tender Rs. 800/- plus Rs.60/- Bank Commission for Open Candidates and Rs.600/- Plus Rs/60/-Bank Commission for Reservation Category Candidates

    On the printed bank challan, the bank will enter the date of payment, Journal No/Bank Transaction ID, Branch Name & Code and put a bank seal on each part of the bank challan

    The Medical College should have been affiliated to Non-Agricultural Universities established under Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Act, 1998 or Medical College affiliated to Deemed university as per University Grant commission Act of 1956 under section 13,A, situated in Maharashtra


    The candidate should have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) will be eligible to appear for PGM-CET 2016

    Candidates who have pass MBBS exam from foreign University are not eligible for PGM CET 2016


    Eligibility Criteria for in-Service Candidates


    In-Service Candidates Eligibility for In-service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Dept for M.M. & H.S. Medical Officer candidates and by commissioner of E.S.I.S. for E.S.I.S in-service candidates

    For BMC In-Service Candidate eligibility criteria will be as per criteria let down by Municipal Commissioner, Director of Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation


    Non-eligibility of Candidate


    Candidates who have passed Final MBBS exam from institute located outside Maharashtra, except candidates who are Domicile of Maharashtra and selected under 15% All India quota


    Candidates who have passed final MBBS exam from foreign university are not eligible; candidates who are not completing internship on or before 31st March 2016


    Candidates who have not obtained MMC, MCI registration


    How to apply:

    The details of online form submission process on DEMR website are as mentioned below (Not Applicable for In-Service Candidates)


    ‘Apply Online for PGM CET-2016’ link will be available on DMER website. Click on the above Link Application form link will be displayed. Click on Application form link. Instructions page will be displayed Carefully read the Instructions for filling online form. Candidate should take printout of Bank Challan with this Challan pay the required fee in any Branch of State Bank of India on Second Working Day onwards, from the day of Printing Challan and obtain your copy of Challan indicating Journal ID, Transition ID


    ‘Log in’ Link will be available on DMER website to verify the Application Form


    Admit Card


    The Admit Cards will be downloaded from website after login during 18th January 2016 to 23rd January 2016 (Not Applicable to In-service candidates)


    Candidate has to go to Centre with downloaded Admit Card and any Photo ID proof (Aadhar Card, Driving licence, PAN Card, Pass-port) Issue of Admit Card is merely an enabling document for appearing at the PGM-CET and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility conditions of admission
