A. Eligibility Criteria, Seats and Reservation

Admission to B. Tech. programs is based on JEE (Main) rank. There are three different categories through which students are admitted:

·          All India Quota (35% seats amounting to 63 seats: 21 in CSE, 21 in ECE and 21 in DSAI): Candidates who completed their school education from any part of India belong to this category. Their eligibility will be as per the business rules of JoSAA 2021. Admissions will be based on JEE (Main) 2021 rank. All reservations will be as per Government of India norms.

·          NTPC Quota (15% Seats amounting to 27 seats: 9 in CSE, 9 in ECE and 9 in DSAI): Candidates employed with NTPC or their wards who completed their school education from any part of India belong to this category. Please visit http://josaa.nic.in for eligibility criteria. Admissions will be based on JEE (Main) 2021 rank. All reservations will be as per Government of India norms.

·          Chhattisgarh State Quota (50% Seats amounting to 90 seats: 30 in CSE, 30 in ECE and 30 in DSAI): Candidates who passed both 10th and 12th standard examinations from schools situated in the State of Chhattisgarh belong to this category. The candidates must have scored 50% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) in their 12th standard examination. Admissions will be based on JEE (Main) 2021 rank. The reservation for candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories shall be as per Chhattisgarh Government norms.

a.     Women – 30%

b.     Children of Ex-Servicemen – 5%

c.     Children or Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters – 3%

d.     Persons with Disabilities – 5%

Additionally, 1 (one) supernumerary seat each is available for Kashmiri Migrants in CSE, ECE and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence programs.

B. Age and Other Criteria for Admission to B. Tech. Programs under Chhattisgarh State Quota

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1995 are eligible. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC and PWD, upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years, i.e. SC, ST, OBC and PWD candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1992 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board will only be considered.

The following criteria, the same as stipulated eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) 2021, will also apply:

·          Only those candidates who have passed their 12th standard examination or any other qualifying examination in 2019, 2020 or 2021 shall beeligible.

·          The candidates who appeared in the 12th standard examination or equivalent qualifying examinations in 2018, did not pass in 2018, but passed in 2019, are not eligible.

C. Admission Process

Candidates should apply under any or all of the above categories based on their eligibility. Candidates seeking admission under All India Quota must apply through JoSAA (http://josaa.nic.in) and those seeking admission under Chhattisgarh quota and/or NTPC quota must apply through the institute online portal (https://www.iiitnr.ac.in/content/btech-admission-2021). The process flow is given in the following page. 

Application Procedure and Counselling Fee for B.Tech. Programs (under CG State & NTPCQuota)

Candidates desirous of seeking admission in IIIT-NR under CG State or NTPC quota must apply online on the Institute website https://ims.iiitnr.edu.in/Btech/index.htm Offline applications or applications via email will not be considered.

Counselling Process

Candidates applying for admissions shall be required to remit a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 500/- online. Based on the online applications received, merit lists, based on JEE (Main) 2021 rank, will be published for each category. Please refer admission process flow chart (Section C). The entire process will be conducted online strictly as per the announced schedule in process flow diagram. Any changes in the deadlines or alterations in the process will be duly communicated on our website. Any physical solicitation concerning the Admission Process will not be entertained.

Minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks or First Class in the qualifying degree, fulfilling specific requirements for different disciplines, as indicated below:

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and communication Engineering or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering or Equivalent (for details, please see appendix-B), and a valid GATE score in EC/EE/IN/BM/XE.

OR

MSc (Electronics/Physics) or equivalent (for details, please see appendix-B) from a recognized institute with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks or First Class in the qualifying degree, and a valid GATE score in EC/EE/IN/BM/XE.

Relaxation for SC/ST/PD Candidates: Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ST/PD applicants.

A.    The eligibility of a candidate is based on the highest academic qualification at the time of application, as given below:

(a) B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent degree in an appropriate discipline with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale),

OR

(b) Master of Science or equivalent degree in an appropriate discipline with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale), and minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree, from a recognized University/Institution.

Relaxation as per government norms for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

B.    Students with B.Tech. from IITs/NITs/IIITs with a CGPA greater than or equal to 8.0 will be admitted directly into M.S.(R) program without the need for interview provided they are already associated with a sponsored project/scheme of the Institute.

C.    The maximum age of a student shall preferably be below 35 years on the first of July of the Autumn semester.

·          All applications will be received through online portal of IIIT Naya Raipur only. An applicant has to register online by filling the required details. The login credentials will be provided to the applicant on an email used for registration.

·          The applicant has to login with details received and complete the application by providing all the necessary information. Please note that the applicant has to upload the testimonials wherever it is required to validate the information along with photograph and signature.

·          After completion of filling the application, the applicant will be directed to the payment gateway. Once the payment is done successfully, the applicant will be asked to confirm the final submission of the application.

·          After the final submission, an acknowledgement of payment along with the copy of the application will be provided for future reference.

·          The applicant has to carry the print out of this application along with all the attachments and their originals during the written test/interview.

·          The applicant has to register separately (the same email id can be used) to apply for multiple disciplines and payment also to be made separately.

A. The minimum educational qualification for admission is a Master's degree with a consistently good academic record in relevant discipline.

B. The candidate should have first division or equivalent in both Bachelor and Master level degree.

C. All candidates seeking admission under Institute Scholar category shall have to possess requisite marks/grades in the qualifying examination given below:

·          Ph.D. (Engineering)- GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET

·          Ph.D. (Science, Management)-GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/NBHM

·          Ph.D. (HSS)- UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET NOTE: The Selection Committees may set higher criteria than the minimum qualifications listed above.

D. Applicants under INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP category should have qualified CSIR/ UGC/ DAE/ NBHM/ DST/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR or secured funding from such an agency. They are not entitled for Institute Assistantship.

E. Applicants under Sponsored (Full-time) category must be a regular employee of the sponsoring organization with at least two years of professional experience in the respective field.

F. Applicants under on-deputation category should have at least two years of professional experience in the respective field.
