The University of Delhi is the premier university of the country and is known for its high standards in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars to its faculty. It was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly. Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree with 50% marks for General & OBC candidates; Relaxation upto 5% marks for Physicall Handicapped (PH) candidates: 45% marks for widows/wards of ex-servicemen/serving personnel (CW), and degree with pass marks for SC/ST candidates
Application procedure
1. Interested candidates can obtain the bulletin of information and exam application form in three ways:
By submitting a bank draft of Rs. 700 (Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates) in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi payable at Delhi/NCR Delhi and collecting the bulletin and application form from:
i) the office of the Admission Committee, Faculty of Law, Delhi University North Campus from 10:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m. and
ii) the office of Law Centre II,
By downloading the bulletin and form from www.du.ac.in and depositing them along with the fee.
By requesting the application form and bulletin by post by sending a bank draft of Rs. 750 (Rs. 300 for SC/ST candidates) to Co-ordinator, Admission Committee, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.
Physically handicapped candidates can get the bulletin of information and application form free of cost. This is subject to the production or sending of a photocopy of the physically handicapped category certificate.
2. The application form should be filled and deposited in the office of the Coordinator, Admission Committee, Faculty of Law,
The application forms are accepted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on all working days and up to 5 p.m. The office is on lunch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Candidates with minimum 55% marks in LL.M or 60% in LL.B degree course are eligible to send their research proposal to the Department of Research Committee in Law.
The proposal must contain detailed synopsis (10 copies) which should be prepared in consultation with some faculty member. Interested candidates are recommend to check with the Ordinance VI-B for detailed eligibility conditions available on the University's website.
Short listed candidates will be required to attend an interview at Office of Dean Department of Research Committee. Interview dates will be declared on the official website of
The applications for entrance test along with research proposal in detail have to be submitted together with the demans draft of Rs. 700/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST/PWD/CW category candidates) in favour of the Registrar,
Selection Procedure for
The candidates would be required to appear for interview/viva-voce before the Departmental Research committee in the office of the Dean, Faculty of Law.
Those who have cleared a national level examination like CSIR/UGC-NET-JRF, DVT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-inspire or equivalent valid fellowship may appear for interview without appearing in the departmental test.
