Procedure for application

·          Application for admission shall be made on the prescribed form obtainable from the Registrar, Forest Research Institute University, Dehra Dun. The application form and the Information Bulletin can be had either in person or by post on payment of Rs.1200/- through Bank Draft in favour of Registrar Forest Research Institute University payable at Dehra Dun. The cost of the form mentioned above is subject to review and change from time to time.

·          Each application form shall bear a serial number. This number and the course which admission is sought must be quoted in all correspondence regarding admission in the Institute.

·          All correspondence for admission should be addressed to the Registrar, Forest Research Institute University, Dehra Dun.

·          Application duly filled in legibly and correctly in applicant’s own handwriting should be sent with accompanying set of document completed in all respect so as to reach the Registrar, Forest Research Institute University P.O I.P.E. Kaulagarh, Dehra Dun on or before the last date. Postal delay will not be accepted as plea to entertain application after the last date.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT:

1.     To be eligible for admission to the Doctoral programme, a candidate must:

(a) Hold a master’s degree or its equivalent from any recognized university/institute in a subject approved by F.R.I University.

(b) Have received grades 55% or above in Post graduate examination for General/OBC category and 50% or above for SC/ST category.

2.     In case of registration of foreign students as Ph.D. Scholars the Equivalence Committee of the F.R.I. University before their registration shall settle the equivalence of the degree possessed by them.

PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION

The Candidates, who are interested for registration as research scholar for the Ph.D. degree in forestry in forest research institute deemed to be university Dehradun for the term of March 2022 are advised to apply in prescribed form latest by 31^st May, 2021 with a fee of Rs. 1500/- through Bank draft in favor of registrar, FRI deemed to be university, Dehradun. The research centre-wise position of seats is shown on website of FRI deemed to be university.

The entrance test would be held either in off line mode at different research centres of Forest research Institute deemed to be university or in online mode (Remote proctored examination) in which the candidates will appear in entrance test at their home. In view of present scenario and uncertainties due to COVID- 19 the university has the right to cancel the entrance test and adopt alternative mode of admission in order to maintain “Social distancing”, safety and health of candidates. In this regard the decision of FRI Deemed to be university shall be final.
