The campus is situated at Baru in Hamirpur District of Himachal Pradesh and is 3 Kms from Hamirpur bus stand. The city of Hamirpur is well connected with the rest of the country by road. The nearest broad gauge railway line is at Una, Himachal Pradesh which is around 80 Kms from Hamirpur. The campus is spread in an area of approximately 13 Hectares.
The curriculum lays emphasis on theoretical technical knowledge as well as on practical hands on experience. Hence the Polytechnic lays strong emphasis on strengthening Industry Institute Linkage by organizing Industry/Field Visits and Expert Lectures. Industry based Project are integral part of all curriculum. Eligibility:Candidates interested to take admission in first year of 3 years diploma program in Govt. Polytechnics are required to take PAT (Polytechnic admission test) which is being conducted by Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board Dharamshala Distt. Kangra H.P every year in the month of May. The selection for admission to different courses is being conducted by Directorate of technical education H.P Sundernagar through centralized counseling on the basis of merit of PAT.
Admission into second year of diploma level courses under lateral entry scheme is made on the basis of merit of LEET (lateral entry entrance test) or 10+2 science after exhausting the merit of LEET.
Minimum eligibility to appear for LEET is ITI ( 2 years in Engg. Trade) or 10+2 vocational from govt./state govt.
