The Institute was established in 1960 with a strength of 250 pupil and 10 teaching staff. The institute was then under middle scool level, headed by Late Shri Karpurapu Venkata Narayana Garu. In the year 1961 Late shri Pundari Kaksha Rao Garu had developed the Bapuji Commitee high school.With the support and assistance of Mr. V.N.Rajendra Kumar Garu the then Chairman of Chalamiah Satram, the Institute had acquired the existing land.With due respect to the family the institute had been named as Guntur Chalamiah High school.
