National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.At the time of its golden jubilee in 1969, it was renamed as National Institute of Nutrition (NIN).

MBBS or B.Sc. in:
· Nutrition/ Food & Nutrition/ Applied Nutrition/Nutrition & Dietetics
· Home Science/ Food Science/ Biochemistry/ Zoology
· Applied Nutrition & Public Health
· Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics
Eligible only for Sports Nutrition (other than common qualifications)
· B.Sc. in ‘Food Science and Quality Control’
· B.Sc. Life Sciences (Botany, Genetics, Microbiology)
· BAMS
MODE OF SELECTION: All India - NIN Common Entrance Test (N-CET) & Counselling
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The link for Online Application on the website will enable the candidate to complete the registration and online application process. On clicking the link, the candidate will be first directed to the registration process. Under the Registration process the candidate will be required to enter basic details like his/her name, social status, mobile number, email id, educational qualification. Based on the qualifying degree opted, the eligibility for the M.Sc. course(s) at NIN will be fixed. Accordingly, the drop-down menu will project only the course(s) the candidate is eligible.
DETAILS OF FEE PAYMENT
After entering the above details, the candidate will be directed to pay the registration fees online. General category/OBC/EWS students have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 3000 and SC/ST category students have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 2700. On paying the registration fees the candidate will receive the payment reference number. The registration fee once paid online will not be refunded.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
After paying the registration fees online the candidate can start entering details in the online application form after entering the payment reference number. On entering the payment reference number, the candidate will be able to fill in the online application form. After filling the online application form, the candidate has to upload a photograph in JPEG format and click on submit. The candidate can download a PDF of the filled-in application form after submission is completed.
Note: Incomplete applications and applications not in accordance with the instructions are liable to be rejected without any further intimation.
