- About Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing:

This would require strong products with leading technology / quality and compelling cost advantage. Suitably trained manpower with skill sets appropriate for design, development and prototyping using modern IT tools is critical to achieve this goal. This Institute is envisioned as an academic institution of excellence that would facilitate and promote the competitive advantage of Indian products in global markets. This Institute will serve as an inter-disciplinary institution for education and research in the area of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) encompassing design and manufacturing using state of the art concepts, tools, processes and practices of the industry world over.
Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing Kancheepuram (IIITD&M Kancheepuram) is a Centre of Excellence for technical education and research established in 2007 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to pursue design and manufacturing oriented engineering education and research and to promote the competitive advantage of Indian products in global markets.

- Course Name: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Course Description: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering for the session commencing in January 2017.

Eligibility:Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology (ME/ M.Tech/ M Des) or a Master of Science (MS) degree by Research in Engineering/ Technology with a good academic record.
Candidates with Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and of exceptional merit where eligible, for the relevant Engineering discipline and with a valid GATE score or UGC/ CSIR NET/ NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable for the year of registration.
How to apply:Candidates can apply online and the respective application fee has to be paid online.
Application Fee is as follows:
For GN/OBC-NC male candidates: Rs.250/-
For GN/OBC-NC female candidates/SC/ST and PwD candidates: Rs.125/-
Selection Procedure for IIITD&M, Kancheepuram:
Selection will be based on the academic record and the performance of the candidates in the test and interview by the selection committee.
Candidates with following qualifications will be exempted from the entrance test:
Candidates with a B.Tech degree holder from IIT/IIIT with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10 point scale and with a valid GATE score.
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering/Technology from any other University should be among the top 10 rank holders in the University and having a valid GATE score.
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering/Technology from a reputed R & D organization with excellent research record.
