  • About Indian Institute of Management:

    The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961 in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry. During its initial years, several prominent faculty formed part of its nucleus, including Jagdish Sheth, J. K. Sengupta, among others.

    Eligibility:

    MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PGDBA (BATCH 2022-24):

    ·          A candidate must hold a graduate/post graduate degree with any of the following: 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2, with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Com. or equivalent). One-year MBA will not be considered equivalent of M.Sc./M.Com.

    ·          Candidates with 10+3(Engineering diploma) +3(lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Tech./ B.E.), or with 10+2+4(B.Sc.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Sc.), or with B.Com. + CA with at least 60% marks (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA considered together) are also eligible.

    ·          For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.

    ·          The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks even if the degree awarding Institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the tran. If the CGPA is on a different scale than 10, the eligibility of a candidate will be based on the equivalence of the CGPA on a 10-point scale.

    Candidates, who are in the final year, are also eligible to apply provided they appear in the final examination and complete other academic requirements as specified above by July 31, 2022. For such cases, admission will be provisional subject to submission of final mark sheet by December 31, 2022.

    Shortlisting criteria for Personal Interview (PI) to PGDBA (Batch 2022-24): Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) based on their score in the PGDBA-2022 entrance exam.

    Course Description: Doctoral Fellowship Programme (DFP) (Regional Development) (equivalent to PhD)

    An applicant should have:

    A Master’s degree in any subject or equivalent professional qualification with at least 55 per cent marks;

    and minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks at the three year Bachelor’s degree level

    OR

    A First Class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. If "Class" is not given by the institute then 60 percent

    marks (or equivalent grade point) will be considered equivalent to first class.

    In addition, all applicants must have obtained a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in either the

    Secondary or the Higher Secondary Examination (or equivalent) of a Board or University. Final year

    students appearing for the Bachelor’s degree examination in Engineering or Master’s degree examination

    in any relevant discipline can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be provisionally admitted

    provided they complete all requirements for obtaining the degree before 30 June 2010. The admission

    of these candidates will remain provisional until they produce mark sheets proving that they satisfy the

    eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year degree mark sheets is 31 December 2010.

    For SC/ST candidates the eligibility conditions may be relaxed.

    Selection

    Applicants for the Fellow Programme will be required to take the CAT or other "test(s) in lieu of CAT"

    as specified below.

    Fellowship

    No tuition fee is charged. Each student is given a stipend of Rs. 20,000/- to 24,000/- per month for a

    duration of (4+1) years with a possibility of extension upto a maximum of one year and annual

    contingency grant of Rs. 50,000/- in the first year and Rs. 20,000 for 2nd to 5th year. Students
