Academic Eligibility

One of the following qualifications is required as basic eligibility:

·          Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma (2-year) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

·          Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with Bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent in Bachelor’s Degree.

·          B Tech/4 year Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent*

(* for c above additional minimum 3 years relevant experience is required for applying to Marketing Management Area)

Those appearing for the final exams can also apply; however, their final selection will be subject to successful completion of the requirement by June 30, 2022. Their admission will be provisional till they produce the required certificates of qualification before December 2022.

All relevant qualifications mentioned above must be granted by appropriate bodies in India or abroad and recognized as equivalent by the relevant Government of India authorities.

Qualifying Examination

Except for those opting for IIMB Test, a candidate applying for Doctoral Programme of IIMK should have a valid test score not older than three years as on the closing date of submission in any of the following tests depending on the area of specialization:

** The candidates with UGC-NET and applying for the Economics area need to go through a written test by IIMK which will be conducted along with the interview.

*** Candidates applying for the QMOM area must have Mathematics/Statistics/Operations Research as a course in the undergraduate/post graduate or the qualifying degree.

Applicants opting to take IIMB Test should choose this option in the application. IIMB Test will be conducted by IIM Bangalore on February 06, 2022, online.

The minimum cut-off for the admission year 2022 for CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE and IIMB Test is overall 60th percentile or equivalent. Reservation policy will be applicable to this cut-off for the aforementioned examinations as per the following except for UGC-NET and UGC-JRF (UGC already has cut-off based on reservation category).

Relaxation: Candidates holding PGDM (full-time 2-year program)/ MBA Degree from any of the IIMs or holding an Executive PGDM/MBA Degree from IIM Kozhikode, with an overall CGPA of 2.67/4 or equivalent to B- grade, are exempted from taking qualifying tests as mentioned above. Candidate should submit a research proposal not exceeding 2000 words and must include a title, keywords, motivation of the research, deion of research problem and the questions, a preliminary review of relevant literature, possible research approaches, and references

Selection: Candidates will be short listed on the recommendation of respective areas based on their academic performance, Qualifying examination scores and Research Proposal. Such candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview in online platform.

Reservations

IIM Kozhikode will follow Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs).

Candidates are required to apply online. They can apply to a maximum of two areas of specialization. An application fee of Rs.1000/- is required (Rs. 2000/- in case you are opting for IIMB Test), which has to be remitted online through the link provided with the application form. Scanned copies of all academic mark-sheets, certificates, qualifying examination score card, category certificate and research proposal are to be uploaded along with the online application form.

i.              A Bachelor's Degree* or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 50%** aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA; 3 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience*** after successful completion of graduation as on 08th September 2020

Selection Process

a.     Eligibility of the participants to apply for the program is ascertained based on the information provided in the application form and supporting documents submitted

b.     All eligible candidates are required to undergo the selection process, which consists of an entrance test EMAT followed by personal interview.

c.     All eligible candidates are required to produce the original academic and experience records for verification on the date of EMAT & Personal Interview

d.     Normally EMAT & Interview will happen on the same day

e.     Candidates with valid CAT score^ (Min 75 percentile) or GMAT score^ (Min 650 Score) will be directly considered for the interview. Such candidates are not required to attend EMAT

f.      Candidates who do not attend the EMAT/Interview as per the schedule communicated will not be considered for further selection process.

Exam Center

Candidates applying for the EPGP-13 batch are required to choose one center to appear for EMAT/Interview from the following 8 centers

Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kozhikode.

Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to think critically will be among the key attributes that the panel will seek in candidates.

The applicant must hold a duly recognized bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA

Selection Process

IIM Kozhikode adopts a three-stage selection process for the admissions to PGP-LSM. The details of the three stages are provided below:-

Stage-I (Online application)

The admission process starts with the submission of online application. Eligible candidates who have successfully completed the online application, will be considered for stage-II of the selection process.

Stage-II (Shortlisting of the candidates)

In stage-II, a shortlist of candidates in each category will be prepared based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). The AIS is computed based on the performance in the verbal section of the aptitude test (CAT/GMAT/GRE), academic performance in Class X & XII, work experience and gender diversity score.

Stage-III (Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview)

The short-listed candidates will have to appear for a Writing Task, followed by a Personal Interview (PI). IIM Kozhikode will conduct this process in the following cities in India:

·          DELHI

·          KOLKATA

·          MUMBAI

·          KOZHIKODE

Procedure for Selection

Selection to the Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies and Management is based on criteria including the candidate's academic record, performance in eligibility test score, writing ability test and personal interview ( PGP-LSM Admissions Policy and Procedure for PGP-LSM 2020-2022 Batch). The candidate is expected to check IIM Kozhikode website (www.iimk.ac.in) for regular updates at various stages of selection process as well as other updates regarding admissions.

Reservation

IIM Kozhikode will follow the Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs). Reservation is available to candidates belonging to EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwD candidates as per the central government norms applicable.

Final Merit List

A category-wise merit list will be prepared based on the final scores. Admission offers will be made to the candidates following the merit list as per the Government of India reservation norms.

Post-Graduate degree in any discipline (at least 55% marks); CA, ICWA or CS (at least 50% marks); Engineering degree (at least 60% marks), other professional qualifications (at least 55% marks); Candidates in their final year of the above courses may also apply. Work experience is a must for some degree holders to pursue research in Marketing area (please refer our website for details).

Selection: Based on applicant's profile & valid test scores in any of the following: CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC/ CSIR JRF or GATE (see IIMK website for details of area-wise specification of tests), written test & personal interview at IIM Kozhikode. Valid scores of the above tests should not be older than two years. Candidates holding PGDM of any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.33 or equivalent can apply directly without re-appearing for any tests. Travel support is available up to lllrd AC train fare by shortest route to candidates (Indian residents only) called for interview.

Candidates are required to apply online. After applying online, a print out of the application along with a crossed demand draft (of Rs. 500 in favour of Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode payable at Kozhikode), attested copies of graduation and post graduation mark sheets and certificates, attested copy of the Qualifying Examination score card and Referee Recommendations (in the prescribed formats only) are to be sent to FPM Office, IIM Kozhikode, IIMK Campus P.O., Calicut - 673570, Kerala.
