IIM Shillong has been set up with a vision of providing good quality management education and research in the North Eastern region of India. The decision of coming up with an Indian Institute of Management in the North East was unanimously taken by the Union Minister of Human Resource Development along with the Chief Ministers of the North Eastern States in the Review Meeting held at Shillong during June 2004. Shillong was drafted as the permanent location for the institute after consultation between the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) and the Chief Ministers of States of the region.

Located in the green contours of North Eastern part of the country, IIM Shillong which commenced operations in 2008, remains committed to its goal of excellence in management education and research so as to evolve into a nationally and internationally recognized educational institution. Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institution

Experience: Minimum 5 years of full-time work experience (as on 31 March 2023) after bachelor’s degree. Relaxation up to 1 year is available for candidates with at least 1-year field experience outside India.

Qualifying Examination/Eligibility: CAT: Min 50 percentile (overall) or GMAT: Min 500 score (overall)

Admission Process

The admission process for PGPEx (2023-24) will be conducted in two rounds. Candidates can apply in any of the rounds; depending on the outcome of the first round, the remaining seats will be filled in during the second round. If some candidates are put on a waitlist at the end of the first round, they will be considered for admissions, subject to availability of seats, at the end of second round. The process will involve the following steps:

1.     Filling of the application form by interested candidates

2.     Shortlisting of applicants for Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview. The applicants will be informed about this process, once they were shortlisted for the process.

3.     Conduct of Group Discussion and/or Personal Interviews. Each applicant is expected to select three venues for this, in the order of their preference. The Institute will intimate the applicants about the final venue and schedule of this process. The differently abled applicants will have the option to attend this process over online mode.

4.     Declaration of successful and wait listed candidates

If a University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result by 100. The above qualification should be from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956; or, recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Candidates eligible as mentioned will be shortlisted based on recommendation of the appropriate committee. The shortlisted candidates will be invited for personal interviews (and/or written test) online for final selection.

RESERVATION POLICY

Reservation for eligible categories will be as per Government of India rules applicable for doctoral program at the time of admission.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The application form (available from link below) should be filled up and submitted Online.

The candidates are requested to be careful while filling in the form and to check the same before submitting it. In case any candidate submits the form more than once. The first submission will be considered. The candidates should take the print out of the online form before submitting the same. If the candidate is applying for two areas, two copies must be submitted.

The soft copy of the application form, one for each area with a recent photograph pasted with all the supporting documents (including self attested copies of mark sheet and certificates of all public examinations starting from 10th, experience certificate, relevant score card, age proof etc.) attached separately with each form may be sent online.

APPLICATION FEE

The application fee is Rs. 2000/- (non refundable)

PROGRAM FEES

The total fees for the course is Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rs. Ten Lakh Only).

Selection Process

·          Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria stated above and who cleared the Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs in either 2020 or 2021.

·          Alternatively, those who have valid GATE, GRE, GMAT and JRF (UGC/CSIR) examinations till 17th February 2022 can also apply in the relevant area of specialization.

·          Candidates who have already obtained a two-year PGDM from any of the IIMs with a CPGA equivalent to 60% are exempted from this requirement and can apply directly through the prescribed Application Form. Such applicants are also eligible to get a waiver of the first year course work and can directly join the second year of the program

·          Short-listed candidates (on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above) will be called for a personal interview for final selection. The successful candidates will receive offers to join the course by May 2022

·          Admission to the program is open to overseas candidates including NRIs and foreign nationals. Their admission will be based on GMAT/GRE scores which are valid till 30th January 2022.

Test Scores

Candidates require a valid test score either of GMAT, GRE, CAT, GATE, JRF (NET) score to be considered for admission. Candidates should upload the valid score card along with application form.

Reservation Policy

Reservation for eligible categories will be as per Government of India rules applicable for doctoral program at the time of admission

Age Limit

Applicants must not be more than 30 years of age as on June 1, 2022 to apply

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications to apply for IIM Shillong Fellow Programme in Management:

The candidate must hold a Bachelors/Masters degree of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE. Those in their final year of Masters or Bachelors degree (B.E / B. Tech) in any discipline can also apply. Such candidates have to complete the requirements for the course before 30 June 2017 and produce the original certificates/mark sheets by 31 December 2017.

Age limit and Relaxation
