  • About Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology:

    IIIT (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology) Delhi is an autonomous institute created by Government of NCT of Delhi through an Act 2007 “The IIIT-Delhi Act, 2007” and (Delhi Act 5 of 2008), which empowers it to offer degree programs at all levels. The mission of IIIT is to be a global centre of excellence in Information Technology education, training and research. Its twin aims are:



    To train and educate, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, engineers of outstanding ability who can become innovators and new technology and product creators in the country.



    To carry out advanced research and development in information and software technologies, and in better leveraging IT in specific domain areas. It has started a “BTech in IT” program in 2008, and is starting a PhD program this year. Information about these programs is available on the Institute website.     Eligibility:
    "Candidates qualified for UGC/CSIR JRF, DST INSPIRE, DBT Fellowship and fresh B.Tech. graduates with research aptitude are strongly encouraged to apply. GATE score is not mandatory for some departments."
    Computational Biology (CB):
    Essential qualification: A valid GATE score/GPAT score, National Fellowship (e.g. CSIR-UGC NET, DST INSPIRE, ICMR-JRF, DBTJRF)
    AND
    BTech / BE / B.Pharma/ M.Pharma / MTech / MS / ME in CSE / IT / ECE / EE / Other Engineering with a CGPA of at least 6.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 60%
    OR
    MCA/MSc (CSE/IT/ECE/EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree. Such students are eligible to apply with the condition that they have BSc in Computer Science or BSc in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses. The marks requirement is same as given above.
    OR
    MSc in any other science discipline with at least 60% marks in both B.Sc and M.Sc. and candidate should have their own fellowship through national examination like CSIR-UGC NET, DST INSPIRE, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF (they will not be eligible for fellowship from the Institute). If admitted, these candidates may have to do additional courses in Mathematics and/or Computing, as needed.
    OR
    M.B.B.S. with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree. Such candidates are eligible for Institute token fellowship. However, candidates having their own fellowship through national examinations like CSIR-UGC NET, DST INSPIRE, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF will be preferred. M.B.B.S. degree will be treated equivalent to M.Sc. degree for other regulations. If admitted, these candidates may have to do additional courses in Mathematics and/or Computing, as needed.
    Computer Science and Engineering (CSE):
    BTech/ BE/ MTech/ MS/ ME in CSE/ IT/ ECE/ EE and allied areas, with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 70%.
    OR
    MCA/MSc(CSE/IT/ECE/EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree. Such students are eligible to apply with a condition that they have BSc in Computer Science or BSc in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses.     Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE):
    BTech/ BE/ MTech/ MS/ ME in CSE/ IT/ ECE/ EE and allied areas with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 70%.
    OR
    MCA/MSc(CSE/IT/ECE/EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree. Such students are eligible to apply with a condition that they have BSc in Computer Science or BSc in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses. The marks requirement is same as given above.
    OR
    MSc in Mathematics with at least 70% marks in both B.Sc and M.Sc or 7.5 CGPA and strong inclination towards CSE/ECE.
    Mathematics:
    Essential qualification: JRF from either UGC/CSIR/NBHM/DST or GATE score at least 400.
    AND
    MSc(Maths)/ MSc (Physics)/ MSc(Statistics)/ MStat/ MPhil(Maths)/ BTech/ MTech/ BE / ME in CS/ ECE/ Maths & CS and similar inter-disciplinary programs with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or at least 70% marks at UG and PG levels.
    Social Sciences & Humanities (SSH):
    Minimum Qualification:
    ·          MA/MPhil degree in any Social Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Arts, Media and Communication or similar areas with a minimum of 55% or 7.0 CGPA on a scale of 10.
    ·          MSc in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Cognitive Science/Psychology or any basic sciences with at least 55% marks or 7.0 CGPA on a scale of 10.
    ·          BTech/ MTech or equivalent in any discipline with at least 70% marks or 7 CGPA on a scale of 10 AND/ OR MBA with at least 70% marks or 3.0 CGPA on a scale of 4.
    ·          MSW/ MCom with a minimum of score of 55% or 7.0 CGPA on a scale of 10.
    ·          Two years Full-Time Post-Graduate diploma in journalism, digital humanities, mass communication etc. with a minimum of 55%
    Human-Centered Design (HCD):
    UG or PG Engineering degrees in CSE/ECE/Design/Architecture/ Social Science or other related disciplines (4 yearduration course)
    OR
    B.Des/M.Des
    OR
    MBBS/MD/M.Phil.
    OR
    MCA
    OR
    M.Sc/M.A. degree in design or computing-related disciplines The marks requirement is CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 70%

    How to apply:
    Application Procedure
    ·          Candidates can apply only through the online application portal. There is no provision for offline submission of application forms.
    ·          If you are applying for more than one discipline, please submit a separate application for each discipline.
    ·          After successful submission of the application form, you will receive an application number and a link to download the application form. Please save the application form. You need to furnish hardcopy of the application form and self-attested copies of all the relevant documents at the time of interview.
    ·          Incomplete applications will be rejected.
    ·          The application fee for Ph.D. program is as follow:
    Rs.150/- : For SC/ST/ PD candidates
    Rs.300/- : For other candidates
    Note:
    The Institute reserves the right to call or not to call eligible candidates for the admission process.

    Selection Process

    ·          Admission is generally offered on the basis of an interview, which may be supplemented by a written test, if necessary. The Institute will invite a limited number of candidates for a written test and interview based on the academic records.

    ·          The final selection will be mainly based on academic credentials, written test and/or interview.

    ·          The candidates who do not qualify in the written test need not appear for an interview. The reserved category candidates will be given due relaxation in cutoff marks as per the norms.

    Eligibility:

    ·          Admission in IIIT-D will be based on percentile score obtained in Paper-I of JEE Main 2019 and bonus points for achievements in various areas like Olympiads, Programming Contest, National Talent Search, Sports, Culture, Chess, Innovation, etc.

    Qualifying Examination

    The qualifying examination for admission to all the participating Universities / Institute will be any of the following examination:

    (i) Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

    (ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

    (iii) Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the CBSE

    Note: Candidates who have appeared at the Annual Examination in the year 2019 and have been placed in compartment will not be eligible for admission for the year 2019

    Minimum Marks Criterion in Qualifying Examination

    B.Tech. Course at IIIT-D

    A candidate who has secured 80% or more marks in the aggregate of best of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 80% or more in Mathematics in qualifying examination AND having JEE Main 2019 Rank (Paper I) is eligible.

    Submission of Registration-cum-Counseling Fee

    All candidates desirous of seeking admission to the engineering / architecture programs at DTU, IGDTUW, IIIT-D and NSUT are required to visit website www.jacdelhi.nic.in to pay a non-refundable registration-cum-counseling fee of Rs.1500/- ( plus transactions charges as applicable)

    NOTE: ONLINE REGISTRATION IS ALLOWED AS PER COUNSELING SCHEDULE ONLY.

    The candidate will initiate the fee submission for online registration process by entering his/her following details:

    ·          JEE (Main) 2019 Application Number

    ·          Name (as per JEE Admit card)

    If amount gets deducted from the candidate's bank I card, account but the candidate is not able to register, it indicates that transaction has failed. Such failed transactions are refunded to the same bank 7 card account automatically by the payment system within 7 working days.

    ln such cases, the fee should be paid again for registration without waiting for the refund. The candidate may inform JAC Delhi by sending an email to support@jacdelhi.nic.in, providing the candidate’s details (JEE Mains Application Number, Name, Mobile Number, Date and Time of Transaction).

    Please Note:

    i) After successful fee payment, candidates are required to visit the website www.jacdelhi.nic.in again and fill online registration form.

    ii) After successful fee payment, if a candidate does not fill the ONLINE registration form, he/she will not be considered for any seat allotment in any round of the counseling. (No refund of registration-cum-counseling fee for such candidates will be applicable)

    iii) No other mode of payment will be accepted for submission of registration-cum-counseling fee.

However, the institute currently has only full-time option and no part-time option is available.

    Eligibility:

    IIIT-Delhi is looking for candidates who have solid foundations in CS/Maths, good programming expertise, and interest in pursuing research in one of the above mentioned areas. Eligibility criteria for applying:

     

    ·          First Division through out class X, XII and professional degrees.

    ·          Preference will be given to the candidates who have graduated within the last two years.

    ·          Gate score is optional.

    ·          Additional requirements based on the area/domain are given below.

    Elibilibity criteria for students applying in the CS/IT areas: The student must meet one of the following.

    o         BTech / BE / MTech / MS / ME in CS / IT / ECE / EE

    ·          CGPA at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) in IITs/NITs, or in the top 10% in his/her CS/IT/ECE/EE batch from other institutions.

    ·          MCA/MSc(CS/IT/ECE) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree. Such students are also eligible to apply with the condition that in their undergraduate (i.e. B.Sc.) they should have Mathematics as one of the courses and keen interest/capability/commitment in pursuing research.

    o         MSc in Mathematics:

    ·          At least 70% marks in both B.Sc and M.Sc.

    ·          Strong inclination towards CS.

    ·          Atleast two CS courses (such as Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, Theory of Computation, Discrete Maths etc.) in BSc/MSc.

    Elibilibity criteria for students applying in the GIS domain: The student must meet one of the following.

    ·          Students with background in technical degree (B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in CS/IT/EE/ECE) as specified above.

    ·          B.Sc. (in any science-subject) with minimum 70% marks, and, M.Sc degree with minimum 70% marks in Geology, Geophysics, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Life Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Information Technology or Geoinformatics.

    ·          M.Tech. in Geoscience or Geoinformatics with minimum 7.5 CGPA on a scale of 10 (or equivalent).

    Requirements may be relaxed for exceptional candidates with publications/ R&D/software development experience in their area of interest.

    Collaborative PhD Program: A student in the collaborative PhD program has an opportunity to collaborate with renowned universities and labs across the world, and may be required to spend some time at the partner group/institution for research purpose.
