Engineering Streams: M.E/M.Tech in the relevant branch of Engg or Technology with 60 % marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale for general merit

For SC/ST/OBC candidates it is 55 % marks or CGPA of 6 on a 10 point scale

B.E/B.Tech degree from reputed institutions in the relevant branch of Engg or Technology with 60 % marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale for general merit for SC/ST/OBC candidates it is 55 % marks or CGPA of 6 on a 10 point scale with minimum 3 years experience in professional environments and / or publications in referred journal

Science Stream: Masters Degree in Science / Computer Application with 60 % marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale for general merit

For SC/ST/OBC candidates it is 55 % marks or CGPA of 6 on a 10 point scale

Management Stream: MBA /PGDBA /PGDBM from AICTE approved list of institutions with 60 % marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale for general merit

Applicants fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria, shall be required to take Indus University Research Aptitude Test (IURAT) and appear for a personal interview (PI)

The research aptitude test shall comprise of two sections

One section is on general reasoning, and the other on respective streams

The test paper will have multiple-choice type questions with duration of the test will be 1 hour

During the personal interview, the candidate shall have to make a presentation for about 10 minutes on the main theme of the proposed research, which will be followed by an interview by the panel

The DRC shall test the potential of the applicant for conducting research work

Based on the academic/research/industrial record and the performance of the applicant in IURAT and Personal Interview, the ARC/ DRC shall recommend to the Dean (Research)/ Executive President (Vice Chancellor) the names of the suitable candidates

Successful candidates will be informed of their selection through their email ID within two weeks from the date of RAT/PI

Indus University Research Aptitude Test (IURAT) for PhD Programs:

Duration of the Examination -1 hour

The paper will have 2 sections as per the details furnished below:

Section: A (40 Marks)

Logical Reasoning 10 marks, Data Interpretation 10 marks, Quantitative & Qualitative Research 10 marks, Reading Comprehension 10 marks

Section: B (60 Marks)

The questions for this section will be related to respective stream

For engineering related Streams the syllabus will be as per GATE/Graduate Degree-level engineering course

For Management/Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics the syllabus will be as per UGC NET

Entrance Test: Entrance Examination will be conducted on the 15th Dec 2013

Last date for Submission form:  07th December, 2013
