    Eligibility: The applicant must be : (i) An Indian Citizen (ii) Male (iii) A Science Graduate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects from any recognised University, (iv) Not exceeding 25 years of age on the 1st day of July. 2005. In case of S/C, S/T, OBC candidates, age may be relaxed as per rules, (v) Physical Standard: Height: Not less than 5'6" or 168 cms. which in case of Gorkha/ Other Tribes will not be less than 5'3". Chest : Normal 32" or 82 cms. Expansion 34" or 87 cms. (vi) Physically and mentally fit. (N.C.C./St. John's Ambulance First Aid Certificate/Driving Licence/ Swimming Certificate etc. will be of added advantage).
    How to apply: Prospectus along with application forms will be obtained either in person or through a messenger from the Institute of Fire Services, L.M. Dey Garden, Diamond Harbour Road, Silpara, Behala, Kolkata-700 008 between 10.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. except holidays till 17/06/2005 on payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One hundred) only for General Caste and Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty) only for S/C, S/T and OBC candidates in cash. Properly filled in Application must reach the Chief Instructor, Institute of Fire Service, L.M. Dey Garden, Diamond Harbour Road, Silpara, Behala, Kolkata-700 008 by 17/6/2005, Incomplete or irregular application will be rejected.
