Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology, KCET was established in the year 1998. It is promoted and supported by virudhunagar Hindu Nadars' devasthanam, various Hindu Nadars' mahamai Tharappus in virudhunagar and other places and educational institutions of virudhunagar. The management of the institution consists of the elected members of various Mahamai Tharappus and ex-officio members of various educational institutions of virudhunagar. Eligibility:Candidates for admission to the first semester of the eight semesters B.E./B.Tech. Degree Programme shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of 10th or 12th Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of TamilNadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of four subjects of the study prescribed under Part-III or any other examinations of any University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of the University as equivalent thereto.
The practice of making the candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) of the Government of TamilNadu, to be eligible for admission to affiliated colleges, will continue.
The practice of making the candidates who have passed the Diploma in Engineering / Technology conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, to be eligible for admission to Affiliated Colleges through Lateral Entry System to the third semester of the B.E. / B.Tech. Degree Programmes, will continue.
Notwithstanding the qualifying examination the candidate might have passed, the candidate shall also write an Entrance Examination designed to test the proficiency of the candidate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry on the standards prescribed for plus two academic stream of the TamilNadu Board of Higher Secondary Education.
The Eligibility Criteria such as Marks, Number of Attempts and Physical Fitness shall be as prescribed by the Syndicate of the University from time to time.
The candidate shall not have completed 21 years of age as on First of July of the year of application. For candidates belonging to SC / ST, the age limit is relaxible by 3 Years.
