Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, established in 1976 as a residential University with the objective of promoting inter-disciplinary higher education and research with special emphasis on studies of environmental, ecological and life sciences, is making rapid progress to emerge as a leading educational institution of the nation. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY
A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program must satisfy the following relevant academic criteria:
i. Master's degree ith at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent B grade in UGC seven-point scale in the subject concerned or in an allied subject.
ii. For Management Sciences Master's Degree or any other degree recognized equivalent thereto in (a) Business Administration or Economics or Commerce or in allied subjects with at least 55% marks OR (b) Post Graduate Diploma in Management recognized equivalent to MA by AICTE with 55% marks or its equivalent B grade in UGC seven-point scale.
OR
iii. Candidates with Qualifications as laid down in (i) shall also be eligible for (ii) pursuing Ph.D. in Economics/Commerce.
OR
iv. M.Phil. degree (regular mode only and as per UGC norms) or a recognized equivalent degree beyond Master's degree level with atleast 55% marks or its equivalent B grade in UGC seven-point scale in the concerned or allied subject.
Note: The eligibility will be 50% marks at Masters' level or an equivalent grade for SC/STIDifferently Abled candidates of the Haryana State only.
APPLICATION FOR ADMISSIÓN
The candidate shall apply for admission to Ph.D. program in a manner stipulated by the University from time to time.
Separate application form(s) shall be filled up for each subject.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
· Applications for admission to Ph.D. program shall be invited through advertisement once in a year normally in the month of July/August or as decided by the University. Departments may float seats with specialization, if deemed necessary.
· The University shall make admissions to Ph.D. program through an Entrance Test. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall be as prescribed for NET by UGC/CSIR/ICAR etc. In case NET examination is not available for any subject, the syllabus for the entrance test will be decided by the concerned University Teaching Department through the Departmental Committee.
· Entrance Test will be of 100 marks and a candidate must secure 50% marks to qualify the same. In case of SC/ST of Haryana State/ Differently-abled candidates, a relaxation of 5% of 50 i.e. 2.5% will be allowed. There will be no negative marking
The following categories of candidates are exempted from entrance test for Ph.D. Program:
· The candidates who have qualified UGCICSIR/JRF/NET/GATE (for Engineering only) GPAT (for Pharmaceutical Sciences only) or any other similar examination/ SLET (Haryana State) as the case may be.
· Candidates who are teacher fellowship holders/awardee of the fellowship by the DST (INSPIRE), ICMR, ICSSR or any other equivalent national level fellowship.
· Candidates who have passed Ph.D. course work/M.Phil. from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
Note: The candidates who are covered under the exempted categories may also appear in the entrance test, if they so desire, to improve their weightagge.

“B.Ed. examination from any recognized University, obtaining not less than 50% marks in the aggregate (47.5% in case of SC/ST/Blind/Visually and Differently Abled Candidates of Haryana only) or any other examination recognized by M.D.University, Rohtak as equivalent thereto”.
NOTE:
1. Reduction/relaxation of 5% marks in the eligibility conditions in all the programs shall be granted to the Scheduled Caste candidates. This percentage shall be calculated as per the example given below:-
Out of 100 marks needs to less = 5/100x100 = 5
Out of 50 marks needs to less = 5/100 x 50 = 2.50
This way minimum mark where general category candidates are required to have 50% in a prescribed qualification, the total required marks for a SC category candidate will be 50-2.50= 47.50 and not 45.
2. There shall be no rounding off of percentage of marks of the qualifying examination from 0.5% and above to next higher number for determining the eligibility i.e. 49.5% and above will not be rounded off to 50%
3. In case a candidate has passed the Master Degree Examination also after Bachelor Degree, the higher percentage of marks obtained in either of the two will be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list for admission to B.Ed. Programs.
4. The candidate(s) with re-appear(s) in the qualifying exam shall not be allowed admissions.
5. Cutoff date for eligibility will be the last date/time of online choice filling.
6. One year PG diploma in any subject will not be considered equivalent to Master’s Degree.
7. No applicant shall be permitted to pursue two regular degree Programs simultaneously.

Senior Secondary Examination i.e. 10+2 with at least 50% marks (Pass marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in aggregate from a recognized Board of School Education or an equivalent examination.

A person with the following eligibility conditions shall be eligible for admission to M.Tech (Computer Science) Programme:

5. All the particulars in the Application Form must be written using a ball point pen carefully and legibly by the candidate in his/her own handwriting in English. Incomplete applications will not be considered and rejected.

7. Affix the duly attested recent passport size photographs on the Application Forms at the places meant for them.

Criteria for admission:

The candidates possessing the Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from AICTE approved institutions, with at least 55% marks, and VALID GATE SCORE, shall be eligible for admission. The admission shall be made on the basis of the MERIT prepared from the VALID GATE SCORE only. If the candidates having a valid GATE score are not available, these seats may be offered to NON-GATE candidates, based upon the MERIT
comprising of their aggregate marks in the B. Pharmacy examination only.
Note:
1. There will not be any age restriction.
2. Candidates belonging to reserved classes, with a VALID GATE SCORE, will be considered in the same MERIT as for the general category seats.
3. Scholarship shall be admissible only to the candidates having a VALID GATE SCORE. No scholarship shall be given to the NON-GATE candidates admitted, if any, to the General Category Seats.
4. The mode of selection shall be MERIT on the basis of VALID GATE SCORE only. In case two or more candidates have an equal GATE score, preference shall be given to the one having a higher aggregate marks in the B.Pharmacy examination. If the aggregate marks in the B.Pharmacy examination are also same, preference shall be decided on the basis of seniority in age.
5. Candidates must submit the proof of a VAILD GATE SCORE card and having passed the qualifying examination, i.e., B. Pharmacy, at the time of counselling.
6. The eligibility of the candidates shall be ascertained at the time of counselling. The candidates are advised to bring original certificates/ testimonials along with the attested copies of each from a Gazetted Officer.
7. No rounding off marks in Pharmacy Examination is admissible.
8. There is a likelihood of scholarships being paid by AICTE but the said scholarships shall be admissible only to the candidates having a VALID GATE SCORE. No scholarship shall be given to the NON-GATE candidates admitted, if any.
Reserved Categories
A candidate who wishes to be considered for reserved category (ies) shall have to furnish a certificate issued by a competent authority. Specimen copies of the Certificate are appended in the Prospectus.
A candidate who applies for both reserved and general category will be first considered in the general category. In case he/she is not selected in the general category, he/she will be considered in the reserved category.
