Admissions Procedure

a. Admission will be based on the qualifying examination (50%) and the entrance test to be conducted by the University (50%).

b. For the computation of qualifying examination marks, the first 5 Semesters will be taken into account for the candidates awaiting final Semester results. Candidates with one arrear paper will also be allowed to take the entrance exam on condition that the marks secured in the failed paper will be taken into account.

c. However, when a student fails to satisfy the eligibility criteria after the publication of final Semester results he/she is automatically dropped out of the course without any claim over the fee remitted. The fee remitted once will not be refunded.

The application form can be had from the Registrar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli – 627 012 on payment of Rs 300/- (Rupees Three hundred only) in the form of a Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of the Registrar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, payable at Tirunelveli. (SC/ST candidates are given one application at free of cost producing an attested photocopy of the Community Certificate).

2. The application form should be filled in by the candidate in his / her own handwriting.

As per the NCTE norms, candidates having graduation / Post -graduation with 55% marks are eligible

There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates

Educational Qualification: In service teachers who have passed the undergraduate degree in the following subjects can apply for B.Ed through distance mode

Candidates with other subjects are not eligible; or a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Commerce/Home Science, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic and Indian Culture

Teaching experience at least 2 years of teaching experience serving in Schools in Tamil Nadu (Nursery /Primary / Secondary / Higher Secondary/ Matriculation Schools) recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu / Govt. of India alone are eligible to apply

The candidates should have undergone 10+2+3(15) or 11+1+ 3 pattern of study and passed the qualifying exam conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of examination/ and UG Degree exam of the UGC recognized universities in any one of the school subjects offered by Directorate of School Education at the Secondary / Higher Secondary Education level

However, candidates not qualified in XII examination or PUC but possessing two years bachelor Preparatory Programme Certificate /Two Years Diploma Course conducted by state government/ recognized Universities and qualified with three years UG Degree course are also considered eligible.
