  • About National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology: Industrial development play an important role in the development of the country. To provide the requisite quality & quantity of trained man power at different level, Govt. of India set up the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) in the year 1966 in collaboration with UNDP-USESCO. NIFFT is registered as Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The management of the Institute is vested with Board of Governors with Chairman at its apex and members representing Govt. of India (Ministry of HRD & industry), AICTE, Private and Public enterprises, technical and R & D organizations. During the last four decades NIFFT has earned a reputation as a leading institute for teaching, training, research & development, Consultancy and documentation and information retrieval services in metal casting and metal forming technology. With the globalization of the market, competitiveness in industries has increased tremendously.     Course Description: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) [Department: Forge Technology, Foundry Technology]

    Eligibility:
    ME/ M.Tech./ M.Sc. Engineering its equivalent from a recognized Institute/University in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Foundry-Forge Technology, Material Science and Engineering and allied disciplines with at least 6.5 CGPA (or 60% marks) in aggregate. OR BE/ B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Institute/University in Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering and allied disciplines with at least 8.0 CGPA (or 75% marks) in aggregate. Note: To be eligible for Institute Scholarship, a valid GATE score qualification is mandatory for candidates not possessing ME/ M.Tech. / M.Sc. Engineering degree.
    SCHOLARSHIP/STIPEND
    Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.): - Rs. 31000/- per month for the 1st and 2nd years and Rs 35000/- per month for the 3rd and 4th year for candidates admitted with Institute Scholarship.

    How to apply:
    Application forms can be downloaded from the Institute website (www.nifft.ac.in). The filled forms along with copy of certificate in support of educational qualification, reserve category and a DD (non-refundable) for Rs. 1000/- (for General/OBC/EWS) and Rs. 500/- (for SC/ST) in favour of NIFFT, Ranchi should be sent to Assistant Registrar (Academic), NIAMT, Hatia, Ranchi – 834003
    RESULT OF WRITTEN TEST AND SELECTION LIST WILL BE PUBLISHED ON INSTITUTE WEBSITE ONLY. NO INDIVIDUL COMMUNICATION WILL BE SENT.
    SELECTION PROCESS AND RESERVATION
    (a) Selection is based on written test/interview.
    (b) The candidates have to come for written test/interview to NIAMT, Ranchi. No TA/DA admissible
    (c) The candidates will have to produce all the relevant documents within 60 days from the date of admission, failing which his/her admission will be cancelled.
    (d) The Institute will not be responsible for any postal delays/loss.
    (e) The Institute reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason therein.
    (f) Reservation as per Govt. of India rules for admission
    (g) Final admission is based on medical fitness.

    Eligibility:

    The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (Diploma in Metallurgical/Mechanical/Production Engineering/B. Sc. degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Relaxed criteria of 45% marks will be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

The filled forms along with copy of certificate in support of educational qualification, appearing certificate of final exam from principal/dean (if applicable), reserve category and a DD for Rs. 600/- (for General/OBC/EWS) and Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST) in favour of NIFFT, Ranchi should be sent to Assistant Registrar (Academic), NIAMT, Hatia, Ranchi – 834003.

     

    Stipend Rs. 2500/- per month to all admitted students.
