  • About National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management:

    NIFTEM is the brainchild of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). MoFPI in its Vision document-2016, envisaged creation of a world-class institution to cater to the various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, industry, exporters, policy makers, government and existing institution. NIFTEM would work actively in assisting in setting food standards, businesses incubation and information sharing. It would also be an apex institution in the field of food technology and management, networking and coordinating with other institutions in the same field.




    NIFTEM is being established at Plot No. 97, Sector 56, Phase IV & V, HSIIDC Industrial Estate Kundli, District Sonipat, Haryana, as an international center of excellence to cater to the needs of various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, industry, exporters, policy makers, government and existing institutions.

    Candidates are advised to refer to JEE (Main)-2022 website. The eligibility conditions of JEE (Main) -2022 will be applicable.
    Admission Procedure:
    Admission will be done through JEE (Main) – 2022. Eligible candidates will fill the application form of JEE (Main) – 2022. Subsequently counseling will be done by JoSAA/CSAB-2022. All candidates are advised to refer to website of JEE (Main) – 2022 (www.jeemain.nic.in) and CSAB -2022/JoSAA-2022 website for further details. Note: In case seats from JoSAA/CSAB remains vacant, Institute may fill those seats through own counseling. The eligibility conditions and other relevant rules will be communicated on institute website after JoSAA/CSAB counseling is over.

    How to apply:

    Applicants are required to apply online at www.niftem.ac.in. candidates belonging to unreserved/OBC-NCL/EWS/TFW categories are required to pay for each application form a fees of Rs. 1000/- and the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are required to pay Rs. 500/-. The bank charges will be borne by the candidates. applicants should refer NIFTEM website for further details and any update from time to time.

    SELECTION PROCESS
    The Admission to M. Tech programme will be based on valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) score. Merit list will be prepared based on valid GATE score only. The merit list will be displayed on the NIFTEM website. In case two candidates will have same GATE score then the bachelor degree marks will be considered for merit list for those candidates.
    After the admission of eligible GATE qualified candidates, the remaining seats, if any, will be filled by Non-GATE candidates. The Non-GATE candidates would require to qualify the common entrance exam to be conducted by NIFTEM at NIFTEM Campus Kundli/ OR *Online. There will be no other exam centre than NIFTEM Kundli in case of offline mode. The Non-GATE applicants’ common entrance exam shall not be conducted, if all seats have been filled by GATE candidates. In that case, the claim for refund of application fee shall not be entertained.
    *Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdowns, the exam for Non-GATE candidates may be conducted Offline/Online, based on the situation prevailing at that time. In such case, the schedule for exam will be shared separately on NIFTEM website.

Candidate may be required to go deficiency courses as per requirement.
    Selection & Mode of Programme: Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC- CSIR NET (including JRF)/ICAR-NET (including JRF/SRF)/Other JRF holding candidates (barring DST-Inspire) shall be exempted from Research Entrance Test (RET). Other candidates (opting for part time) will have to appear for RET.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM FOR ADMISSION IN ACADEMIC SESSION 2021-22

    Candidates can apply for the M.Tech/MBA/Ph.D admission courses in following four steps.

    ·          Register/Login

    ·          Fill the application form

    ·          Upload the scanned copy of the documents.

    ·          Pay the Application fee.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ONLINE REGISTRATION OF THE FORM

    1.     Please read the instructions, procedure and Eligibility criteria carefully before you start filling the Application Form (For Eligibility, refer to the brochure).

    2.     Candidate can apply for Admission session 2021-22. Apply Online only through official website of NIFTEM, Sonipat.

    3.     Please ensure your eligibility as per the criteria laid down for the different Courses (as applicable).

    4.     Applicant is allowed to apply only to ONE PROGRAMME (M.Tech/MBA/Ph.D) (Please go through the website and carefully make your choice). Multiple applications shall be rejected.

    5.     Application fee is Rs.1000/- for General/OBC (Rs.500/- for SC/ST) only.

    6.     Application fee once paid will not be refunded in any circumstances.

    7.     Application fee shall be paid by credit card/debit card/Net banking only at the payment gateway attached with the application form.

    8.     Additional bank charges will be extra as applicable for making the payment.

    9.     After the successful payment, applicants are advised to keep a printout of the completed application for future references.

    10.  The information regarding the important dates, applicants are advised to be in touch with the website of NIFTEM. However, registered candidates will also be informed by SMS and e-mail. Therefore, the mobile no and e-mail address should be filled up carefully.

    Eligibility:
    The eligibility criteria for admission to MBA Programme is Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in relevant discipline, with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% in the case of SC/ST), or equivalent CGPA. 
    Selection Process: The selection procedure to MBA Programme is based on last two years' valid score of CAT/MAT/CMAT and an Internal- Test for Non-CAT/MAT/CMAT category applicants (including those not shortlisted through CAT/MAT/CMAT). The final selection of shortlisted candidates will be made on the basis of GD/PI, past academic performance and work experience.
    Admission Criteria:
    As per the past practice, NIFTEM shall admit MBA candidates by a two stage process:
    ·          Short listing of eligible applicants through CAT/MAT/CMAT/NIFTEM Entrance Test.
    ·          GD/PI of shortlisted candidates to be conducted at NIFTEM. The MBA candidates who are not shortlisted (as per the decision of Scrutiny and short listing committee to be proposed by HoD-FBM) based on their CAT/MAT/CMAT score would be allowed to appear in MBA entrance test.
    Final Merit list of candidates would be prepared on the basis of performance of candidate in GD/PI, past academic records and relevant work experience. MBA counseling process shall start with the declaration of list of qualified candidates.
    As per past practices, Candidates appear physically for entrance test, however, this time entrance test may be conducted either online or offline based on prevailing situation. Further, GD/PI of shortlisted candidates also may be conducted online via video conferencing platform like Google meet, Webex etc. This has been proposed for this year only.
