National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The Institute is dedicated to developing and facilitating comprehensive, effective and specialized interventions in the area of Social Defence. NISD functions as an advisory body for Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India and Resource and Training Centre of Excellence in the field of Social Defence.
Age Limit: He/she should have completed the age of 21 years as on June 1, 2021 and should not be more than 45 years as on June 1, 2021, those above the age of 45 years are invited to audit courses of their choice on a nominal payment per course. A maximum of three courses can be audited. An audit certificate will be issued.
Qualifications and Qualifying Examination: Should have a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates
· Having a degree in Sociology, Social Work/Social Welfare, Anthropology, Psychology, Nursing, Home Science and related fields
· Having certificates/ experience(s)/training of working in Age Care Organisations.

· It can also be collected personally from Old Age Care Division, NISD from 10 am to 5 pm on all working days
· Filled in application forms will have to be submitted on or before May 15, 2021.

No. of seats and selection criteria: There are 30 seats for each Centre. There is no course fee. The course is purely non-residential and the selected candidates will have to make their own arrangements for board & lodging.
Selection will be made through a Common Aptitude Test (CAT) to be held at New Delhi, Bhubatcswar, Kolkata, Agartala, Pune, Bangalore, Cochin and Coimbatore on followed by Group Discussion and Interview.
Reservation of Seats: Fifteen percent of the seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 7.5 percent seats for the Scheduled Tribes candidates, 27% for the OBC candidates not falling within the ambit of creamy layer any 3 percent for the fallowing category of disabled who will be able to take up the job of Care Givers:
Persons with hearing impairment or low vision fitted with appropriate aids, assistive devices to enable them to function with normal hearing, vision, speech etc.
Persons with minor disability in one of the lower or upper limb that does not restrict their job of care giving if fitted with appropriate appliances or even without it.
