    Hearing Screening and Evaluation

    NISH conducts audiological evaluation for the entire range of affected population ranging from neonates to geriatrics . The Institute is equipped with state of the art advanced audiological equipment and uses a test battery fot the clinical diagnosis. Paediatric diagnostic test battery comprises of :

    - Behavioral Observation Audiometry

    - Conditioned Audiometry

    - Immutance Audiometry with Acoustic reflexes

    - Brain stern evoked response Audiometry

    - Oto Acoustic Emission Analysis

    The adult diagnostic test battery comprises of

    - Pure tone Audiometry

    - Speech Audiometry

    - Immitance Audiometry with Acoustic reflexes

    In addition to these, special tests such as High frequency Audiometry, Multi frequency Tympanometry, Middle Latency Response, Tests for cochlear and retro cochlear pathology, etc are also conducted when necessary.

    Eligibility:

    Only Indian citizens of Kerala origin are eligible for admission


    Minimum educational requirements for admissions to this course is BASLP or B.Ed (HI)


    Candidates with DTYHI and minimum 4 years of experience with young deaf children may also apply The candidates should possess a valid RCI registration at the time of application


    The candidate should have obtained minimum 55% marks in the qualifying examination


    Method of Selection The selection process will be based on the rank list solely prepared on the basis of the index marks calculated based on the points assigned for Qualifying examination, marks obtained for the qualifying examination and the years of experience working with young deaf children.


    How to apply:

    The application can be downloaded from the www.nish.ac.in


    The application fee is Rs. 500/- for the general candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates


    Payment of application fee can be made at any branch of State Bank of Travancore using a challan form; payment should be made to State Bank of Travancore, Akkulam branch A/c No: 67224749979


    The candidate can also download from the website the bank challan form


    The bank challan will have the details of the NISH account to which the application fee has to be transferred; the reference number obtained from the bank and the remittance details should be entered in the application form


    Those who have internet banking facility can remit the fees through NEFT transaction to “NISH FEE ACCOUNT”, State Bank of Travancore, Akkulam branch Account No: 67224749979 with IFSC Code SBTR0000581
