  • About Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NGSM):

    The Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NGSM) was established in 1983 with a view to provide job oriented professional courses in Pharmacy at the diploma, degree and post graduate levels. Initially, set up at the Nitte campus, Karkala taluk, the college was later shifted to the NET"s Medical Sciences Complex, Deralakatte in August 1988 and then moved to Nanthoor, Mangalore in February 1999.  On January 22, 2007, the NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences shifted to its new premises at Paneer, Mangalore.     Eligibility:

    A pass in the 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the statutory bodies with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics.


    How to apply:

    Application forms are available at the Nitte Education Trust offices in Ahmedabad and Mangalore at a cost of Rs.300/-. The same can also be downloaded from the website www.nitte.ac.in. The duly filled-in application form should be forwarded along with the following documents:

     

    1.      Attested photocopy of the 10th standard marks card.

    2.      Attested photocopy of the 12th standard marks card. 

    3.      A demand draft for Rs.350/- towards registration fee favoring "Nitte Education Trust - A/c NGSMIPS", payable at Mangalore. Incase the application has been downloaded from the website, then a sum of Rs.650/- should be sent.

    Eligibility:

    A pass in the 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the statutory  bodies with not less than 50% marks in any combination comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years as on December 31, 2007.

     

    Candidates who have scored less than 50% marks in 12th standard but who have completed B.Sc. degree with Chemistry as one of the compulsory subjects in combination with any two of the following, namely, Physics or Mathematics or Microbiology or Botany or Zoology or Bio-technology or Computer Science or Electronics securing not less than 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for admission to the I year B.Pharm course.

     

    Candidates who have scored less than 50% marks in 12th standard but who have completed the D.Pharm course, securing more than 50% marks in aggregate in D.Pharm, are eligible to be admitted to the I year B.Pharm course. 

     

    Candidates who have passed the D.Pharm course (approved by the PCI) with not less than 60% aggregate shall also be eligible to this course and shall be admitted directly to the II B.Pharm course. The number of direct admissions to the II B.Pharm is however, restricted to 10% of the sanctioned intake.
