Eligibility criteria for admission to Ph.D. programme

1.     Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a relevant Master's degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade from a University, a deemed University or any other University incorporated under a law and recognized by University Grants Commission of India (UGC).

2.     A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their relevant Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace marks.

3.     A candidate who has not completed Master’s Degree, is permitted to appear in the entrance test for the Ph.D. programme. However, such candidates shall be required to submit a certificate of passing the Master’s Degree along with the marks/grades obtained at the time of interview for admission into Ph.D. programme.

Procedure for admission

Admission into the Ph.D. programme shall be through an Entrance Test and subsequent interview conducted by the University. Reservation shall be applicable as per the reservation policy of the State Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Submission of Form: Completed forms can be submitted up to 27 September, 2021 with a A/c Payee Bank Draft/IPO of Rs. 750/- in favour of Registrar RGPV” payable at Bhopal to Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Airport Bypass, Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal – 462033 . The Envelope must contain the following header, “Application form for Ph.D. Admission in the faculty of……………………” Applicants must submit separate applications and A/c Payee Bank Draft/IPO of Rs. 750/- if they wish to apply to different faculties.

The Last date for submitting the online application Form will be: 27^th September, 2021

Online Examination for the PhD Entrance Test: 5^th October, 2021

The eligible candidates will be interviewed Online/Offline mode from: 21^st to 23^rd of October, 2021

Instructions for Filling the Online Application Form:

è      Online application Form will be available at URL http://admissions.rgtu.net

è      Before filling up the online application form, candidates should keep ready the required bank draft (as per details given under at point 7 below), so that relevant entries regarding bank draft details, could be entered in the application form.

è      Candidates are required to fill all the relevant entries in the application form and submit the same online.

è      On successful submission of application form, a registration number will be generated, which will appear on the top left corner of the submitted form. This number should be treated as your Identification Number and should be quoted in all future communications.

è      After successful submission of form, the candidate shall take a printout of the application form (containing registration number of the candidate). Registration number appeared at the top left corner of the submitted form will searve as the user id for further logging to check the status online.

è      The candidate is required to, paste his recent passport size photograph and affix his signature at the appropriate location in the printout of the application form.
