To be eligible for admission to the Semester I of the Three Years Programme leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) the candidate should have passed:

(a) The Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in any stream, including Vocational stream in the subjects notified by the University from time to time.

OR

(b) Std XII Arts/Science/Commerce or similar examination of another body, equivalent to Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Goa, and recognized as such by Goa University.

Admission Process

The admission to first year of B.Com. program is generally held in the month of May every year after the results of HSSC examinations are declared. Candidates can however, purchase the B.Com. program prospectus even before the declaration of HSSC results. The admission process is online. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions are required to fill online admission form on the college website. After a defined cut-off date, the college generates merit list of candidates based on their HSSC marks and the list is made available on the college website. Selected candidates from the merit list are allotted specific days to visit the college office and complete the remaining process of verification of necessary documents and payment of admission fees. Admission fees are to be paid through debit/credit card only. Candidates are advised to visit college website for relevant information and instructions on admission during the admission period.

Admission to the B.B.A. programme

Students are required to answer a college entrance test (DCET)/ UGAT which will carry 50% weightage. There will be a 20% weightage for the 12th standard score and 30% weightage for personal interview

The eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Com. programme are as under:

(i) Candidates must pass the Bachelor of Commerce degree examination of Goa University or any other recognized University with a minimum of 40% marks.

(ii) The candidates must have appeared for GU-ART admission ranking test conducted by Goa University and obtained an admission rank.

Admission Process

The admission to M.Com. programme takes place in two stages, viz., University Counseling stage and Institutional admission stage.

(I) University Counseling Stage

Counseling process for admission takes place at the Goa University campus.

(i) The admission to the first year of M.Com. program commences with the GU-ART test conducted by Goa University which is held in multiple rounds generally between January and April every year. This examination may be thus conducted even before the conduct of B.Com examinations.

(ii) After the declaration of results of GU-ART examination, the University announces counseling session for all the students having GU-ART rank. During such counseling session, candidates are given an opportunity to select the institution of their choice for admission to M.Com. programme.

(iii) Students desirous of taking admission to M.Com. programme in S. S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics are required to make the choice accordingly. However, this choice is available strictly on merit based on the rank achieved by candidate in GU-ART examination and availability of seats in the institution preferred by the candidates.

(iv) The candidates are required to pay specified amount of fees for confirming their admission to M.Com programme in selected institution.

(II) Institutional admission stage

This process is completed at the institution level.

(i) Subsequently, after the results of B.Com examinations are declared, candidates can purchase the M.Com. programme prospectus from the college office which will provide further details on admission process and documents required.

(ii) The admission process in this institution is online at www.dempocollege.edu.in. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions and who have selected this institution at counseling stage are required to fill online admission form on the college website.

(iii) Candidates are then required to download and print the filled application form and submit the same to the college office alongwith balance amount of fees. With this admission to the M.Com. programme is complete.

The eligibility criteria for admission to MTTM programme is as follows:

1. Candidates must pass the bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 40% marks from Goa University or any recognised university.

2. Candidates should appear for Goa University – Admission Ranking Test (GU-ART) and obtain an admission rank.

Admission Process

The admission process to the MTTM Programme:

(i) The admission to the first year follows the Goa University’s GU-ART Examination Stage, Goa University announces registration to the GU-ART examination through its websitewww.unigoa.ac.in, the test is conducted by Goa University in multiple rounds and candidates are required to register for the same as per the timelines specified.

(ii) Goa University declares ranks through a downloadable merit list on its website, there is no ‘counselling stage’ for MTTM programme and the students can directly remit the ‘seat confirmation fees’ to the college account based on the GU-ART rank secured.

(iii) Students who are still awaiting their bachelor’s result from Goa University colleges are required to provide an undertaking (pro-forma available on the prospectus) about their ‘provisional admission’ to the MTTM programme subject to passing the qualifying degree exam.

(iv) Students who wish to avail a study loan and to obtain a letter to the bank from the college, will have to pay the ‘seat confirmation’ fees and submit a request letter to the Principal of S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics.

(v) Subsequently, after the qualifying degree exam results are declared, candidates can purchase the MTTM Prospectus from the college office which will provide additional information on admission process and documents required.

(vi) The admission form to MTTM programme is available online on www.dempocolleg.edu.in, candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can fill in the online admission form.

(vii) A PDF file with token number is generated after submission of the online admission form. This PDF has to be printed and submitted to the college office with other documentations specified in the MTTM programme prospectus. With this the admission to the MTTM Programme is complete.

To seek admission to I.M.Com. programme, a candidate must have passed standard XII in any discipline with at least 60% marks and minimum prescribed score in the entrance test. The admission is granted on the basis of marks obtained at the entrance examination in order of merit. The candidates are expected to possess basic knowledge in commerce courses offered at B.Com. level failing which the candidates shall be required to undergo a bridge course in the domain of commerce.

Admission Process

Admission to IMCOM programme is through an entrance test. The entrance test is conducted by the college in multiple rounds before and after HSSC examinations. The syllabus for the entrance test is similar to that of competitive examinations and includes General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and additional component of basic knowledge of business and commerce. The dates of entrance examination and sample question papers are made available through college website prior to the examination. Students and parents can also attend programme orientation that is usually scheduled in the month of January every year. Candidates who qualify in entrance test and secure minimum of 60% marks in HSSC examination can then fill online admission form for IMCOM at www.dempocollege.edu.in. After filling the online form, the candidates are required to download and print the form and submit the same in college office alongwith necessary documents and prescribed fees. This completes the admission process.
