It gives us immense pleasure to introduce to you SGT (Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary) University, Gurugram, which spreads over 70 acres of lush green campus enveloped with serene beauty and environment. The Best Private University is situated at Chandu-Bhudera on the outskirts of Gurugram, is less than five kilometers from the Delhi border at Daurala and has easy and convenient access from I.G International Airport. SGT University came into existence by the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act No. 8 of 2013 making educational opportunities available to all segments of the society under the parasol of Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust, which was founded in 1999 with the holy cause of propagating the message of Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the great philosopher and social reformer which says “spread of learning is the best service to mankind”. In fact, the seeds for its magnificent growth were sown way back in 2002 with the establishment of the SGT Dental College.

Candidates for admission to the PhD programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently able and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.
4. Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country, for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to PhD programme.
5. In case a National fellowship (JRF/ SRF) is granted by any Government Agency (ICMR/ ICAR/ DST/ CSIR/ UGC) to MBBS / BDS or any other students bearing a professional degree of 4 years or higher duration, that shall be considered eligible for getting registered for PhD without appearing in the entrance test. These candidates may submit their applications for admission at any time.
6. In special cases, direct admission to PhD programme may be given based on the candidate’s previous research experience (made evident by his/her research publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals) from a recognized University/ Research institution comparable to M. Phil / M. Tech/MPH standard.
PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
1. SGT University shall admit PhD students through an Entrance Test conducted at its Campus / Centre(s) in online/physical mode.

2.1 Decide on an annual basis through its Department Research Committee (DRC) a predetermined and manageable number of PhD scholars to be admitted in an Academic Year depending on the number of available Research Supervisors, availability of seats with them and other academic and physical facilities available, keeping in mind the norms regarding the scholar-teacher ratio (as indicated in Clause 6.6), laboratory, library, and such other facilities
2.2 Notify well in advance in the University website and through advertisement in at least two (2) national newspapers, of which at least one (1) shall be in the regional language, the number of seats for admission, subject/discipline-wise distribution of available seats, criteria for admission, procedure for admission, examination centre(s) where entrance test(s) shall be conducted and all other relevant information for the benefit of the candidates.
3. Once the admission is given in PhD courses, the admission fee will not be returned on cancellation of those admissions.
