a)    Candidate applying for admission to B. Tech. program through JOSAA/CSAB 2021 must satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB 2021 guidelines.
b)    Candidates applying for admission to B.Tech./B.Arch. program through SMVDU Direct Counseling (Subject to availability of vacant seats) based on JEE(Main) 2021 Rank (CRL) must satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB 2021 guidelines. However, the minimum aggregate percentage obtained at 10+2 must be at-least 60% (or equivalent CGPA) or as per JOSAA/CSAB 2021 guidelines, whichever is less.
c)     Candidates applying for admission through Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Entrance Examination-2021 (SMVDUEE-2021) must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

a.     Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 or 2020; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2021 are eligible to appear in SMVDUEE 2021, irrespective of their age. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2018 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2022 or later are not eligible to appear in SMVDUEE – 2021. Date of birth, as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.

b.     Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing SMVDUEE – 2021 (Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject). The candidates who have taken less than five subjects in class 12th /qualifying exam are not permitted to write SMVDUEE-2021 and even if such candidates appear in SMVDUEE-2021, their provisional admission will be cancelled at any stage. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Class 12th /qualifying exam or equivalent CGPA and should be qualified in all the courses at 10+2 level.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) can also apply subject to condition mentioned in below.

Candidates, who have appeared OR are appearing in examination of the final year of their qualifying degree and where the result of this examination is yet to be declared, can also apply subject to their meeting other eligibility criteria and having finished their final qualifying examination including vivavoce, if any, before the date of semester registration (10th August 2021). However, if selected, the admission granted is purely provisional in nature. Such provisional admission granted is valid till the time the result of the examination of the final year of their qualifying degree is declared subject to the condition that this date can’t be beyond 15th September 2021. In case, the result of the examination of the final year of the qualifying degree of the candidate is declared (maximum time for which is 15th September 2021) and at that time the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria (due to any reason including lower percentage, backlog, re-evaluation case, non-declaration of any other pending result etc.) then the provisional admission granted is deemed to be cancelled without any further notice or grant of any further extension in time. However, for the candidates seeking admission to B.Tech./B.Arch. / Integrated programs, providing proof of meeting the eligibility criteria latest by the designated date of physical document verification is mandatory, failing which the offered provisional admission will be cancelled without any further notice.

Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. program. Candidates, who have appeared / are appearing in their qualifying examination and the results (Regular result) of which are yet to be declared can also apply as explained below. Candidates with MCA degree are not eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program at School of Computer Science & Engineering.

A candidate applying for admission to Ph.D. program on Full Time Registration basis must have qualified National level examination such as UGC / CSIR - NET or GATE in concerned discipline or should be sponsored by a reputed organization where he/she is working. However, candidate(s) who are not NET/GATE qualified may also apply for admission to Ph.D. program on full-time registration basis for which they may be considered in case of left over seats. However such candidates shall not be entitled for any Assistantship from the University.

The candidate will be required to undertake the Written Test. The Written Test of candidates being conducted for admission to PhD Program shall be treated as a qualifying criterion (screening test) for proceeding to the Interview process.

Min of 60% marks at PG level. Preference shall be given to students who are UGC Net / SLET / GATE qualified. NOTE: The Faculty of Management, SMVD University shall use the CAT Score 2013 only for short listing the candidates for admission to two year full time Master Degree Program in Business Administration (MBA) for the Academic Session 2014-2015. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the program. The decision related to the conducting of CAT and the CAT Centers will be taken by the IIMs and will be binding on the applicants.

The candidates appeared in the CAT 2013 examination shall have to apply separately at SMVDU along with CAT Examination.
