·          Candidates with MD/MS, DM/MCh or M.Sc. (Medical), or equivalent Master’s degree awarded by a University & recognized by SVIMS are eligible to register for PhD course under Faculty of Medicine/Allied Health Sciences. Candidates with Master’s degree in life sciences/allied health sciences awarded by a University & recognized by SVIMS are eligible to register for PhD course under Faculty of Allied Health Sciences
·          Candidates with a PG degree in Physiotherapy i.e., MPT degree awarded by this University or a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy considered as equivalent to MPT by SVIMS University, M.Sc. in Nursing degree awarded by this University or a University recognized by INC or a P.G. degree in Nursing considered as equivalent to MSc, by SVIMS are eligible for enrolment in PhD courses under the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences
·          Candidates must have scored a minimum of 55% (aggregate of second and/or third year marks for medical courses). However, a concession of 5% marks is allowed to SC/ST candidates. For MD/MS candidates, the decision of the selection committee appointed by the Director-cum-VC is final
·          Candidates with MD/MS, DM/MCh degrees who are themselves acting as chief guides cannot apply
·          Post graduate degrees awarded by distance education will not be considered.
·          A JRF/SRF working in a project funded by the Institute or any other extramural funding agency and teaching faculty working on ad hoc basis or on daily wage / contract basis can apply for full time registration in a PhD programme. They will be allowed to continue their assignment only if they get provisional registration in the same department where they are working subject to

Age Criteria

1.     For admission to full time PhD as regular candidates, the age of the candidate should be below 45 years as on 01st July 2019

2.     Production of a concurrence certificate from the Principal Investigator/Head of the department (Form A) and

3.     An undertaking that he/she will not claim any extension of the tenure of the post or any other benefit whatsoever, linking the claim to his/her registration and pursuance of PhD program (Form B)

Selection Procedure

The applications should be complete in all respects. Those applications which are incomplete shall be summarily rejected and the decision of the selection committee shall be final. The selection will be made by the committee based on written test and / or interview. The final selection list will be notified and will be communicated to the successful candidates. The selected candidates are required to deposit their fees and undergo medical examination before joining the course. The selected candidates must join within 30 days of the date of communication of the result to him/her

·          Application form and prospectus can be downloaded from the SVIMS website and can be submitted with necessary documents along with DD for Rs.1500/- for OC/BC & Rs.1000/- for SC/ST candidates drawn from a Nationalized Bank in favour of the “Director, SVIMS, Tirupati. Bank Challans, Cheques, Postal Orders and Money Orders will not be accepted

·          The filled-in application form along with the photocopies of the following certificates should reach the Registrar, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati-517507 on or before the last date specified in the application

The women candidates shall only eligible

Nationality and Domicile: The candidate should be Indian Nationals or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders should satisfy the Local or Non-local status in Andhra Pradesh (Residence requirement) as laid down in Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admissions) Order, 1974

Educational Qualifications

The candidates should have passed two years Intermediate (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained not less than 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology)/Bio-technology

Candidate shall obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility- Cum- Entrance Test (NEET) to MBBS/BDS Course held by CBSE for 2016-17 academic year. For further details about the syllabus, admission schedule of NEET visit www.aipmt.nic.in

Minimum Age

Should have completed the age of 17 years by 31st December 2016

Candidates possessing qualification of the University/Board or an institution outside the State shall obtain an Eligibility/Equivalence certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh, to the effect that the qualification possessed is equivalent to Intermediate qualification (10+2)

(1) NRI Category: Apart from the above, the candidates who are claiming under NRI category shall satisfy the following:

i. Applicant shall be the ward of NRI or NRI citizen by herself

ii. The NRI parent shall be (a) Holding the OCI/PIO/Permanent citizenship status; (b) Employment in abroad; (c) Shall have the annual income sufficient to support the course of study of his/her ward

(2) NRI Sponsored Category: In the event of non-availability of adequate number of eligible NRI candidates, NRI sponsored candidates will be considered subject to fulfillment of the following:

(i) The sponsor shall be blood relation to the applicant i.e. father, mother, brother or their children, sister or their children, maternal uncle or his children, maternal aunt or her children, paternal uncle or his children, paternal aunt or her children, maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother

ii. The sponsor shall furnish the following:

a. NRI status certificate issued by the Indian embassy under seal (or) overseas citizen of India (OCI) (or) PIO status certificate issued by the competent authority

b. Copy of the passport with valid visa

Method of Selection

A separate merit list will be prepared for NRI and NRI sponsored category basing on the rank secured in the NEET-2016 examination conducted by CBSE

The merit list will be displayed in the website on the date specified in the admission calendar

After all the eligible candidates under NRI category gets admitted, the remaining vacancies shall be filled with NRI sponsored category

Fee Details

The tuition fee is US $20,000 per year to be paid for five years through online transfer. The bank transaction charges levied has to be paid extra

The subsequent tuition fee shall be paid in the month of August every year. In addition, the candidate has to pay other fee in Indian rupees at par with resident Indian students

The candidate should have passed MS/DNB qualification prior to the date of entrance examination failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the entrance examination

In case, the candidate is waiting for the results, unable to enclose the pass certificate, he/ she can mention the same in the application and has to submit the pass certificate compulsorily to the Controller of examinations, SVIMS, at least one day before the entrance test and collect the hall ticket

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates for M.Ch CTV Surgery course will be made on the basis of rank obtained in the entrance test

The candidates who secured a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test will only be qualified to appear for the counseling

Merit list will be prepared and rank shall be allotted in the order of merit based on the marks obtained in the entrance test
