  • About St Josephs College for Women: The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy was founded by Rev. Fr. Jean Pierre Medaille sj in 1650 at Le Puy, France. St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), a Catholic minority institution, is managed by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy, France. Fr. Medaille was born in 1610 at Carcassonne, France, and was educated in a Jesuit College in Toulouse. He joined the Society of Jesus (sj) in 1637 and became a priest. The Founder’s spirituality is based on the teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola who laid much emphasis on translating the unconditional Love of God, into affecting the lives of people for the better. Fr. Medaille too intended that the Love of God be communicated to all people regardless of their class, creed, race, and socio-cultural backgrounds. Our Mission St. Joseph’s College for Women aims at being a Centre of Academic Excellence which empowers young women to provide Intellectual Leadership and transform the world through Courage of Conviction, Optimism and Hope. St. Joseph’s College for Women, affirming its faith in God and love for humanity seeks to impart Holistic education to Young Women while developing global competencies of leadership and make them socially responsive members in a changing technology driven world. Aims and Objectives of the College Endeavors to make its own contribution to the society in the light of its Christian framework in which the principles of Justice, Freedom and Respect for Religious and Moral Values prevail. Works for the Holistic Development of Women into individuals with Emotional Maturity, Humanitarian outlook, Spiritual and Ethical values, Social Consciousness and Responsiveness to adapt to a changing society. Fosters an atmosphere of intellectual pursuit, in which young women from all parts of the world are trained to achieve Academic Excellence with Global Competencies. Trains young women in a climate of trust and faith, to be Self- reliant and to assume outstanding leadership positions in the family and in organizations.     Any student who has successfully completed the AP State Intermediate or any other courses recognized by the Central Government like CBSE or ICSE or equivalent to it or qualifying examination of other states is eligible for admission to the Degree course.

    • Matriculation / I.C.S.E / Intermediate / C.B.S.E certificate
    • Statement of Marks
    • Transfer and conduct certificate
    • Date of birth certificate
    • Migration certificate for other board/other state
    • One passport size photograph.
    • Caste and income certificates for those who are applying for scholarship.
    • Aadhaar Card Xerox Copy with email address
    • Baptism Certificate for Catholic Students
    • Blood Group certificate

    How to apply:

    ADMISSION PROCEDURE

    Separate Application forms for Inter-Arts and Inter Science Degree Arts & Degree Science can be obtained from the college office on payment of Rs.200 /-

    Application for each combination must be made on separate forms.

    All correspondence should be addressed to the Principal, St.Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Gnanapuram, Visakhapatnam – 530 004.

    Application without the Metric/I.C.S.E./S.S.C/C.B.S.E. marks sheet will not be considered.

    Applicants eligible for interview will receive Phone Call and this selection will be valid only up to the date mentioned. Those who do not receive any communication from the College should understand that they are not selected.

    Selected candidates should pay the prescribed fee and produce the following Certificates in Original:

    • Transfer and Conduct Certificate.
    • S.S.C. /Matriculation/I.C.S.E. /C.B.S.E. Certificate.
    • Statement of Marks and Pass Certificate.
    • Migration Certificate of other than SSC Board
    • One copy of latest passport-size photograph.
    • Photo copy of Caste, Aadhar and Income Certificate.
    • An undertaking that the students will not take up any fulltime Job / Course (9 AM to 4 PM) during their course of study in the College.
    • A certificate of Physical Fitness from a certified Medical Practitioner.

    If a student applies for T.C. she has to clear all her dues.

    Candidates are informed that the Original Transfer and Study & Equivalent Certificates produced at the time of admission will not be returned under any circumstances. Students should take copies of these certificates before submitting the original certificates to the College.
