Eligibility criteria for Admission:

Subject to the conditions stipulated in these regulations, the following are the eligibility criteria to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme:

Admission to:

·          Faculty of Medicine: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in MD/MS, DM/MCh/MSc (Medical) degree or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Medical Council of India, is eligible for Ph.D. program in Medicine.

·          Faculty of Dental Sciences: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in MDS degree or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Dental Council of India, is eligible for Ph.D. programs in Dental Sciences.

·          Faculty of Allied Health Sciences:

1.     Pharmacy: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in M. Pharm. / Pharm. D or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Pharmacy Council of India, is eligible for Ph.D. program in Pharmacy.

2.     Physiotherapy: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in Masters degree in Physiotherapy (MPT) or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Government of India / Physiotherapy Association / State Council etc., is eligible for Ph.D. program in Physiotherapy.

3.     Management (Healthcare): A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in MBA – Health care / Hospital management recognized by UGC / AICTE / recognized Institute etc., is eligible for Ph.D. program in Management (Healthcare); with a condition that the research work shall be related to healthcare sector.

4.     Audiology & Speech Language Pathology: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in M.Sc. Audiology / M.Sc. Speech Language Pathology / M.Sc. Audiology and Speech Language Pathology or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India, is eligible for Ph.D. program in Audiology & Speech Language Pathology ( Rehabilitation Sciences).

5.     Public Health: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in Master’s degree in Public Health recognized by Related Council if any,/ UGC / Recognized University / recognized Institute etc. is eligible for Ph.D. program in Public Health.

·          Faculty of Nursing: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in Postgraduate degree in Nursing or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Indian Nursing Council, is eligible for Ph.D. programs in Nursing.

·          Faculty of Biological Sciences: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in Postgraduate degree or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Related Council if any,/ UGC / Recognized University / recognized Institute etc., is eligible for Ph.D. program in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Nutrition and Dietetics, Sports Science, Environmental Health Science, Neuroscience, Applied Clinical Psychology, Clinical Immunology.

·          Faculty of Clinical Research: A Candidate with aggregate of 55% marks in Postgraduate degree or equivalent Master's degree recognized by Related Council if any,/ UGC / Recognized University / recognized Institute etc. , is eligible for Ph.D. program in Clinical Research.

Note:

1.     A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to Socially marginalized section of Society, Socially disadvantaged groups, and Economically weaker section of the society

2.     The postgraduate qualified candidates from other universities applying for Ph.D. program are required to obtain Eligibility certificate from Department of Central Admission, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University.

3.     All foreign National’s irrespective of their Postgraduate studies in India, shall submit Eligibility certificate from SVDU, Photocopy of Valid passport, Visa, Letter from Embassy and Police permission for Residential permit for stay in India.

Admission Procedure:

1.     The Candidate shall submit filled Application form along with the following self attested photocopies of related documents:

Mandatory Documents

·          Master’s Degree Certificate

·          All marksheets of Master’s Degree

·          Bachelor’s Degree Certificate

·          All marksheets of Bachelor’s Degree

·          XIIth passing certificate

·          Caste certificate, if applicable

·          Caste validity certificate, if applicable

·          Domicile Certificate, if applicable

·          Aadhar Card

·          Passport

·          Statutory Council Registration Certificate and Renewal receipt.

·          No Objection Certificate from Employer, in case of SVDU Inservice candidate, NOC shall be obtained from HOI and Registrar

·          Provisional Eligibility Certificate from Controller of Examination, SVDU.

·          Two passport size recent photographs.

·          Birth Certificate or 10th standard passing certificate

·          Disability certificate, if applicable

·          For Jain Minority candidates - Jain Membership Certificate issued by religious JAIN sangh - Affidavit executed before the metropolitan magistrate / notary on stamp paper of Rs. 100 stating religion as JAIN - Jain Community Certificate issued by Tehsildar or Sub divisional Taluka Magistrate - School leaving Certificate mentioning JAIN as religion

·          For International candidates who have completed Master’s in India - Passport, Study Visa and Embassy clearance

2.     The submitted application for Doctoral (Ph.D.) program shall be subjected to scrutiny procedure based on the eligibility criteria. The list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the notice board or on the Institution’s Website for the Entrance Examination.

3.    All India Entrance Examination

·          The All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) for the admission to Ph.D. program shall be conducted by Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, as per the policy.

·          The AIEE shall comprise of 100 marks of objective type question paper (having Multiple Choices Questions, fill in the blanks and match the column). There shall be Two sections, 50 Marks each. Section - I shall have questions related to Research Methodology & Biostatistics, and Section - II shall have questions related to Subject/Specialty Specific. The duration shall Two hours.

·          The Candidate shall obtain minimum 50% marks in the AIEE, so as to eligible for Interview. A relaxation of 5 % of marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(Non-Creamy layers)/Differently-abled category in the AIEE conducted by the Institution.

·          The validity of Ph.D. AIEE shall be for Two Academic years, including the present Academic year, only in those situations where the candidate has not appeared for interview / viva voce.

·          The candidates who have qualified UGC–NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE/ teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil program, are exempted from appearing the AIEE for Ph.D. admission. These candidates shall be directly invited for interview.

Fellowship is Offered to full time Ph.D. Scholars.

Application Form: A candidate who desire to appear for All India Common Entrance Test of this Vidyapeeth will required to submit an application in the prescribed form along with attested copies of the documents in support of application

MEDICAL

§      The candidate must be an Indian National.

§      The candidate must have passed M.B.B.S. Examination from a recognized Medical College and should have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or State Medical Council after completion of one year rotating internship training.

Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate from the Principal/ Dean of the College regarding the likely date of Completion of their rotating internship training failing which their application will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected.

DENTAL

§      The candidate must be an Indian National.

§      The candidate must have passed B.D.S. Examination from a recognized Dental college and should have obtained registration either from the Dental Council of India, New Delhi or State Dental Council after completion of one year rotating internship training.

§      The candidate undergoing one year rotating internship training and likely to obtain final registration certificate from the Dental Council of India, New Delhi or State Dental Council on or before 15th April 2011 can also appear for the Entrance Test. Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate from the Principal/Dean of the College regarding the likely date of completion of their rotating internship training failing which their application will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected

The AIPGMDET - 2011 shall be conducted at the following cities: Mumbai, Vadodara, and New Delhi

All India Post Graduate Medical and Dental entrance Test 2011 (AIPGMDET 2011) will be conducted for admissions to various Post Graduate Medical and Dental Courses Sumandeep Vidyapeeth has been established on 17-01-2007 and has constituent colleges namely

(1)  SBKS Medical Institute & Research Centre which is recognized by the Medical Council of India for M.B.B.S.

(2)     K.M. Shah Dental College & Hospital which is recognized by the Dental Council of India the Colleges are associated with a 1000-beded teaching hospital in its campus having state of the art facilities for health care and treatment.

The Admission Committee of the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth responsible for conducting the entrance test, declaration of results, counseling and final admission to the courses.

§      All India Post Graduate Entrance Test – 2011 [Sumandeep Vidyapeeth]

§      The candidate must be an Indian National.

§      The candidate must have passed M.B.B.S. Examination from a recognized Medical College and should have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or State Medical Council after completion of one year rotating internship training.

§      The candidate undergoing one year rotating internship training and likely to obtain final registration certificate from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or State Medical Council on or before 31/03/2011 can also appear for the Entrance Test. Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate from the Principal/ Dean of the College regarding the likely date of Completion of their rotating internship training failing which their application will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected.

Entrance Test Fee: The Entrance Test Fee is Rs. 2000/-. The fee is payable by demand draft, drawn in favour of "Sumandeep Vidyapeeth" of nationalized / schedule bank, payable at Vadodara. The Candidate should write his/her name and address on the reverse side of the demand draft.

The last date of receipt of completed application form along with requisite documents and entrance test fee at the Registrar Office, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University, Piparia up to 5.00 p.m. dt. 18/12/2010. With late fee of Rs. 500 up to dt. 24/12/2010) it will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that his /her application reaches the office of the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth within the specified time and date. The application received after the due date or not accompanied by entrance test fee/supporting documents shall be rejected and such candidates shall not be allowed to appear for the Entrance Test. The university will not be responsible for non-receipts of applications within the specified time and date due to postal or courier service delays.
