A student aspiring to be Dental Surgeon must have passed the qualifying examination (of a recognized board / university) i.e. 10+2 (or equivalent) examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% in case of S.C. / S.T.) and English and must attain the age of 17 years on 31st of Dec., of the year of admission.
Seats: 15% seats are filled up from amongst eligible NRI Management candidates and 85% seats are filled up first from amongst the eligible PCPMT candidates and in case of left over seats from amongst RPMT candidates and then from 10+2 pass eligible candidates.
Admission procedure: The admission against 15% NRI (management) quota seats is carried out at the level of the institute by inviting applications from the eligible candidates through the press. Enquiries regarding this procedure can be made from the administrative office of the institute.
The admission against the 85% general (management) quota seats is carried out on the basis of a competitive entrance test. As of today the Federation of Private Medical & Dental Colleges through one of the Universities in the state conducts a test named Private Colleges Pre Medical Test. (PCPMT) for filling up management quota seats, for which applications from eligible candidates are invited through the press
