The University of Jammu, accredited as 'A' grade University by National Assessment & Accreditation Council of India came into existence in 1969 vide Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir.
The University provides instructions in such branches of learning as it deems fit and makes provision for research and the advancement and dissemination of knowledge. The University stands for spiritual and material elements in life, thirst for knowledge and virtue under the backdrop of holy peaks of Trikuta Hills.
It also confers honorary degrees or other distinctions on the persons of exceptional caliber. The University also admits, maintains, recognizes, affiliates colleges and other institutions. It is primarily a research, teaching, affiliating, examining body involved in promotion of arts, science and other branches of learning. The University is open to all classes and creeds with the sole objective to carry people from darkness to light.
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 pattern), with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a recognized Indian University or any other equivalent examination. Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination in 2020/2021, as the case may be, can also apply provisionally as per the University statues. Further, the candidate must have appeared in CAT 2020/ AIMA-MAT (September 2020/December 2020/February 2021/May 2021/June 2021) and CMAT 2021 (Cut off 40 percentile are eligible to apply).

March 29, 2021 against a Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, payable at Jammu. Application Forms downloaded from the Website must be accompanied by Bank Draft as per above. Such application/s must be accompanied by a scanned copy of the supporting documents. Ten (10) seats are available for admission to M.Sc. Biotechnology Programme run by the University. Candidates with Bachelor's Degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/ Technology, 4-years B.Sc. A candidate to be eligible for admission to the Master Degree (other than M. Phil.) Bachelor Degree (LL.B and B.Lib.Sc) and Diploma programmes in the University, must have passed the qualifying Bachelor Degree examination of 10+2+3 pattern (Honours or General) in Arts, Science, Commerce, or Business Administration or an examination qualifying for a professional degree of not less than 3 years duration or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, from a statutory university/institution with atleast 40% of the aggregate marks (36% for the Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates).
