  • About Urdu Academy:

    Urdu Academy is engaged in the promotion, propagation & development of Urdu Language and Literature in Delhi. With a view to promote Urdu lingual culture and encourage exchange of ideas and experiences, it organizes Seminars, Mushaira, Cultural programme etc. at various occasions. It provides financial assistance to publish creative writing for the needy Urdu writers. Under educational and training programmer, it provides prizes to Urdu students and supplies books to Urdu medium schools and libraries.

    Urdu Language was born out of the Indian soil. Urdu poetry, in a great measure, inspired millions to make sacrifices in the long drawn out freedom struggle and it remained most popular language for centuries together.  Legislative Assembly has passed Delhi Official Language Bill 2000 giving Urdu language as the status of IInd official language of Delhi. To Effectively monitor and co-ordinate the above said activities a separate Department of Art, Culture and Language has been established in the NCT of Delhi.

    (2) Candidates should not have learnt Urdu at any stage.

    How to apply:
    Prescribed Application forms can be obtained from the office of Urdu Academy on any working day between 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. after publication of Advertisement. And can be downloaded from our website. Those who wish to submit the Application form on the same day. they should bring one Passport size Photograph and copy of the certificate of their Educational Qualification with them. For further details, contact Room No.5 of Urdu Academy, Delhi.
    The classes (Four days in a week) will be held at the following areas from 6.00 p.m.to 7.00 p.m.:
