XAT Selection Criteria 2018

The selection criteria and XAT 2018 participating institutes vary from B-School to B-School. It is generally a two step process. In the first phase, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their XAT performance and institute cutoff

The shortlisted candidates have to appear for Writing Ability Test (WAT) or Essay Writing or Group Discussion/Group Activity and Personal Interview rounds. The B-schools may also consider criteria like past academic records, work experience etc. or the overall candidate profile

Work-experience before graduation will not be counted by the selection panel

Candidates who were in their final year of graduation while applying for XAT must have completed their Bachelor’s Degree at the time of selection procedure in order to be eligible for selection.

XAT 2018 Application - Registration Process

A candidate needs to register for XAT exam and also register for the institute courses of his/her choice separately by paying separate application fees. The candidates first need to visit the official portal of XAT i.e.; xatonline.net.in

To be eligible to apply for admission into the programme, the candidates should

(i)         Be at least Graduates from any recognized University

(ii)       Have interest in entrepreneurship-social or commercial- even though currently not functioning as entrepreneurs

Reservation: - 50 % of seats will be reserved for students from Jharkhand. For this category of candidates, such reservation norms as are stipulated by the Government will apply.

Course Fee: - The course fee has been fixed at Rs 50,000 only, which along with the cost of study materials (Rs 8,000 only) will be required to be paid in two instalments.

Scholarships: - Limited number of scholarships will be available for meritorious but poor candidates based on merit-cum-means criteria to be decided and announced by the Institute in due course.

Application Procedure: To get admission into PGP-CEM, candidates are required to submit the application first online and then through hard copy along with a recently taken Passport-size Photograph pasted on the completed Application Form and a Demand Draft for Rs 200 only drawn In favour of "XLRI, Jamshedpur" payable at Jamshedpur. To register for online application, the candidates are to visit the website www.xlri.ac.in/edc and click on "Apply for Registration". On completion of online registration, a login ID (called CEM ID) will be generated. This ID along with the Password need to be preserved by the candidates carefully.

The completed application form along with a recently taken Passport-size Photograph and a Demand Draft for Rs 200 only should reach following address. Name of the candidate and Login ID (CEMID) are required to be mentioned on reverse of the Demand Draft. The envelope in which the hard copy of the completed Application is sent to EDC Office should be super scribed with "Application for admission: PGP-CEM 2017." Proof of educational qualifications, work experience and Caste affiliation etc. are not required to be enclosed with the Application. These will be verified at the time of Interview /Group Discussions and admission.
